Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 59 Lincoln Capri. It is a 2 Door Hardtop. This car has a 430 cid v-8 engine auto trans, power seat, power windows, power locks, power drum brakes, and power steering. This car has been in storage for just over 10 years. We started and moved the car at least twice a year. I have owned the car since 1993. When i bought it, it had been in storage for a few years as well. i believe the mileage of 89058 to be original mileage. the title is clear and in my name. the car is currently registered and insured in California. It is time to realize that I don't have time to restore this cool car back to its original glory. The power locks and windows need some repair. The window switches work sometimes, other times not. Seems like the switches are corroded. There is not rust or rot under the car. I have taken pictures to try and show this. The exterior body shows some surface rust and very few pinholes of rust. It looks like there has been repaint in the original light blue color. All the trim looks to be intact. The fuel tank was taken out a few years back, cleaned and a drain valve was installed in one corner. Recently I drained the fuel and put new fuel in. The trans was serviced a few years back, fluid still looks clean and red. The transmission does not seem to down shift into low gear unless you manually do it and doesn't grab park when its in park. I'm no expert but the trans might need some adjustment. This might be normal, I am not sure. I drove the car today and it drove well. There is an oil spot under the car that looks like its coming from the rear of the transmission. Likely due to it sitting so long. The engine runs well and has an exhaust leak at the manifold donut. The driver rear muffler also has a hole in it. The engine after warmed up sounds like a very slight lifter tick and only sometimes. T Years ago the fuel pump stopped working. I took the car to a shop, they removed the pump to have it rebuilt, They installed an electric pump to keep the car mobile. Well, the shop lost track of the pump after a few years and now the electric pump is what we drive it with.(toggle switch under the dash to turn it on) The interior will need some love as well. The front seat is power operated and still work. Seats are all there, but are torn and will need to be repaired/restored. The headliner is there but in bad shape. The door panels are there, but some clips are missing as well as the panels are worn from their age. Carpet is there but is 55 years old just like the rest of the interior. Dash pad is deformed slightly from sitting in the sun. The bulk of the electrical seems to be in working order. It charges the battery(the battery is new last month), turn signals work as do the brake lights. Brakes are working, but I would go through them. Power drum brakes with single reservoir master cylinder. Car has radial tires on the original rims and hubcaps. The tires are near new tread wise, but are old and cracked from age. The car has the original black CA. plates and the original keys too. I have done my best to describe the car and represent it in pictures so that no one is surprised or disappointed. This car basically needs a total restoration, but can be and is being used as it is. If you have any questions at all, please email me (lttleric@sbcglobal.net) or call/text 408-507-4004. If you need specific pics, I can take them. You are also welcome and encouraged to look at the car in person. I live in San Jose , CA.I can help get the car to a shipping facility within a reasonable distance from my home. I can store the car for up to 2 weeks after the sale so you can arrange shipping. Please ask any questions before bidding or buying the car, as I don't want anyone to be disappointed or unhappy with their purchase. On Mar-10-14 at 16:18:50 PDT, seller added the following information: After further inspection I found a small amount of rust under each door. It is about 6-8 inches long and approx 1 inch wide near the front of the door. The wipers do not work, they are vacuum operated and will likely need new hoses due to their age.My phone number is in the ad as well as my email address if you need to contact me.I will do my best to get back to everyone as soon as possible. There has been a TON of interest on this car! No trades and I cannot deliver it farther than about 40-50 miles.
