Up for auction is a 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC. This marked the second year that the SLC was imported to the US so it retains the more desirable Euro bumpers with small overriders. The 450's feature power windows, power assisted steering, air conditioning (not functioning in this car), three speed automatic transmission and a 4.5 liter V8 producing 190 bhp and 220 lb-ft of torque. Originally purchased in the spring of 1973 at Knoxville Motor Company, this car spent its life in North Georgia and is virtually rust free. This SLC wears an older respray in two tone Feuerrot (red) and silver that still shines but is showing some wear and cracking in places. The tan MB-Tex seats have been recently reupholstered and are in fantastic shape. The rear and passenger side carpets are in great shape while the driver's side and parcel shelf show some wear and tear. The dash has a couple cracks but is in good shape (pictured). All windows function as do the exterior lights. The dash lights are out due to a faulty rheostat however the the front and rear interior lights function properly. The 14" Bundt wheels are in great shape with plenty of tire life left. The rear window has a crack on the passenger's side. Runs and drives great with only a small amount of oil consumption. The odometer reads 87,325 but has stopped functioning so I can't attest to the true mileage. Clear title but the previous owner signed it on the buyer's line by mistake. Georgia does not re-issue titles so I will provide a bill of sale along with the previous title. The car is in Athens, Georgia.
