ok, this car > 2000 saab 9/5 > wagon runs and drives as good as it looks. at my home and as photographed; just picked the kids up from school. lousy day, but I have to list this item. please see all photos, I took every good and bad shot there was. again, car runs and drives well. starts, stops, steers and cruises with no effort. clean and comfy interior. great tires and brakes, steers with total control, stops with confidence, smooth and quiet at speed. great heat, horn, wipers, lights, stereo, heated seats, correct alloys, 4 wheel disc, nice leather seating, full power, moon roof, cargo cover, roof rack, gauges, odometer, windows, defrost, suspension, etc. >> are all A-OK. a pleasure to drive, around town or cruising. looks like a lot of car. great front wheel drive, nice style, shiny black paint... about as ding, dent and scratch free of a old black car you can find~!~ but, and a big but... this car's engine has a knock, or more lack a rap. noise comes from the top end of the V6 towards the cabin. it is most noticeable at idle and at slow speeds. tooling around town or cruising, it is almost below radar and not disturbing. I am concerned because it will likely not get better or go away, just we are not sure the cause or cure. great rubber, good brakes, good almost everything... motor has a rap and the check engine light is on. non smoker's car, accident free, clean title, go figure !! this does not appear to be a sludged motor at all; but we do see a new water pump and car may have briefly overheated. tranny shifts great and OD is fine, although seems to be in winter mode or safe mode on when from a dead start. this is not a tranny issue, but a limp mode/safety feature caused by the check engine light. car will be at my mechanic's shop tomorrow (Saturday) and I will share full diagnosis. car is being sold as is, running, 2 keys, books, title, bill of sale, emission report, carfax, etc. drive it home as is, fix-er-up as you choose.
