Vehicle Detail
We have presented a fine example of the Volvo 1800 ES Sport Wagon, one of only 8000 built and 3000 in the year of manufacture. You won't find many of these left, especially in this condition. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION, so highest bidder WINS! This vehicle was acquired from an estate, which the owner had taken very good care of and restored to the condition it sits today. It runs and drives beautifully with the 4 speed manual transmission and optional Overdrive. So you can have a classic and get good gas mileage as well! Both the interior and exterior have been re-done. Upholstery, headliner, front leather seats are all in superb condition with no rips, tears, or signs of wear. There is an aftermarket Pioneer stereo system in the car (the only thing that doesn't fit to the originality of the time period). All gauges work except the clock. The E-brake light also stays on unless the headlights are on high beam..? I believe this is just a wiring issue which can easily be addressed. All brakes are good, including the E-brake. There are a couple door deals / gaskets that should be replaced. The Exterior paint is high quality and presents very well from 1 foot away. This is not a 20 footer by any means. All tires have full tread and the wheels are like new condition with no observable dings / dents / scratches to speak of. The engine compartment is spotless. Has new exhaust. Chassis / Frame is solid and she doesn't leak a bunch of oil as most cars would of this period. Gas tank has been professionally cleaned. The car will start right up and drive anywhere. Chrome is good throughout, bumpers are solid front & rear (one small quarter size dent that can be popped out on front. Has nice optional roof rack. The four corner posts have some mild pitting. A/C works, has rear defroster. We have several parts /repair receipts that will go with the car. The owner's manual as well. Has two sets of keys. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. We want this car to go to great home and would be happy to further discuss it and answer any questions, so please feel free to email us or call us at 865-776-7833. Please view Photobucket link for more pictures (we have close to 100 in there): http://s1284.photobucket.com/user/bpenderg/library/1972%20Volvo%201800%20ES We’ve always had an appreciation for classic American & European cars and over the years have created an eclectic collection. We only buy cars that we’d personally be interested in owning and generally only sell them to make room for other acquisitions. That time has come for this Volvo (if the price is right, of course – this isn’t a fire sale). We try to give accurate descriptions of the cars we’re selling, but we’re enthusiasts, not experts, and we encourage and are happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms our ability to make sales to other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction’s end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction’s end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of the auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however we’d be more that happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction’s end. Thanks for your interest.
