You've probably heard this story before...I bought this car with big ideas about restoring it and making it a sweet cruiser. Sadly, I have too many projects and something must go. This car didn't make the cut...but not because it's not awesome. It's definitely awesome. The good: To me, the ES is the best of the 1800s. That sweet longroof and glass hatch on the back are great. The car runs and drives well. It is very original and mostly straight, body-wise. It would make a great project you can drive while you tinker with it. The odometer shows just 47084 miles (see mileage under the bad too). It looks to have been repainted once. The paint is still shiny and looks presentable. The car has had only one registered owner ever. The sale includes the original Connecticut registration form from 1972. The title was issued when the owner (apparently) moved to Arizona in 1980. All of the paperwork has the same owner's name. Also included in the sale are several Volvo service manuals, original owners manual, two sets of keys, a box of random parts, and about a dozen really cool Volvo owners' club magazines from the mid-1980s. The bad: The car has some rust in the rocker panels. I have tried to accurately represent the rust in the photos below. If there are any other items you would like to see photos of, let me know and I will try to get them for you. The speedo cable is missing, so the actual mileage is unknown. Having driven the car, I would say that the mileage is pretty close to original. The car seems tight, the steering is responsive, and everything is solid. The rear seat is in perfect condition, as it was folded down for most of its life. The front seats need upholstery. Let me know if you have any further questions.
