About the sellerI make a living by providing accurate descriptions of the vehicles I list for family, friends and estates. I am not a dealer but I do have have clear title to the vehicle and the authority from the owner to complete the transaction. Note that I include pictures of the underside of the car--where much the money gets spent on used cars--information that most sellers apparently would rather not share with you. I'll tell you everything I can find out about the vehicle--how it's been used, stored and serviced. I am a mechanical engineer with 40 yrs experience in the vehicle industry. I’ve raced, toured, modified, repaired and restored motorcycles and cars since college days. I take full responsibility for my descriptions and enjoy a good reputation by making sure there are no surprises at delivery. My auction vehicles have gone to Europe, Mexico, half the lower 48 states and we added Azerbaijan this year. Never any junk fees, no free TV’s, and no suspenseful consultations with “the sales manager” (that’s me)! Fly into Cleveland (CLE) or Akron Canton (CAK) and I’ll pick you up in your new airport limo! About the 2002 Lexus ES300 Note that 2002 was a model upgrade year for the ES300--it got a little bit roomier, quieter and smoother than its predecessors. This very clean example is owned by a lawyer friend who put most of the miles on it going back and forth from Cleveland to Columbus. It's been well serviced at a good local shop (I've requested detailed service records which I'll make available) Everything works as new including AC, lights, gages, electrical equipment; Engine starts, idles and runs great, transmission shifts smoothly. You can see from the underside photos that the exhaust has been taken care of. The car is current on Ohio e-check and has no check engine light or service warnings. The interior is remarkable--everything tidy, the pop-out cup holders stow and pop out as when new, factory stereo includes CD and cassette (remember those)? Cloth seats--clean and firm with only the driver's side giving any indication this car has done over 200k miles. The Scoop -same owner for last 9 yrs -clean, fresh non-smoking interior -well serviced, always garaged -very solid car with no major dings, hood has been painted, a few nicks and scratches on bumpers -starts, runs, shifts smoothly -everything working as expected -un-dinged windshield, tidy carpet seats -driver's factory floor mat is missing, other 3 are there and in decent shape -no check engine light or 'service soon' warnings -typical cushy Lexus ride -full brake pedal with smooth, progressive, quiet stopping from highway speeds -new, never mounted full size spare with new tire in trunk -will need new tires soon Condition details -A few small dings, scratches and wear consistent with age of vehicle -Underside is remarkably solid--no holes in pan, frame, rockers, etc (see pics) just surface corrosion consistent with life in Ohio -Muffler is solid and exhaust quiet No-reserve auction No 'asking price' No buy-it-now price No 'what will you take?' price Goes to the last bid Opening bid is about half of Edmunds.com trade in value Scammers? Don’t even think about it! I do not do bundled shipping. And furthermore, please practice your English on more gullible sellers. The boiler rooms you guys call from are so noisy these days I can hear your buddies in the background asking the same stupid scammer questions: “So why are you selling your... ‘item’…” The last scammer who tried to snag my e-mail is probably still trying to figure out how he got 250,000 messages about aluminum siding and free ginzu knives back in his mail. I should have deleted this comment as edmund's trade-in suggestion is about $3600 even with a big deduct for the miles. Kelley Blue Book typically predicts values much higher than edmunds. I often wonder what they are smoking over there when they make these valuations? But they have this car at $3200 trade in. Never the less, we all know that those guys don't decide what any vehicle is worth--you guys, the market that is, decides that. Which is why I start most of my auctions at $.98 or some nominal amount. cheers, john
