Vehicle Detail

I purchased this 1977 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser in Feb 2010 from Washington state. It was restored while under the care of the previous owner including but not limited to the following: - New paint job (forest green with standard white roof and front bezel); the paint is currently a 9/10 in quality with a scratch behind the spare tire and a small chip on the bezel. There are also a few small runs on the dash, but overall, it is very nice looking. It is apparent that all rubber, trim, and hardware was removed prior to painting the truck. - New upholstery and cushions on front and rear seats; high quality materials, very tasteful camo pattern, appears to have been done professionally; the upholstery still looks new, no tears or worn spots. The seat tracks/mounts also appear new. - Rhino liner-type material was applied to the entire floor inside the truck as well as to the wheel wells, the fire wall in the engine bay, and the underside of the hood. - Locking front and rear differentials - New white head liner (recently started sagging but is clean and still looks new) - New locking Tuffy console with 2 cup holders - New front bumper ready for winch installation - New off-road Toyo tires, 33X10.50 R15 (I haven’t driven on these much and have not taken them off-road, so they look almost new and have a lot of tread on them as shown in the photos) - New black and chrome Ultra Motorsports rims (including the spare) with front wheel hubs painted to match the truck - Various other new trim pieces such as new black side mirrors, new door and window rubbers, new chrome latches on hood, new turn signal lenses, new top and bottom dash covers, powder-coated roll bar. What I have done since owning the vehicle: - (2010) Restored the entire emissions system as required by AZ law using original Toyota parts (it has since passed emissions every year) - (2010) New front and rear seat belts - (2011) New tie rod ends installed professionally - (2012) New steering gear box installed professionally - (2013) Remanufactured brake booster installed, as well as rebuilt front and rear brakes with all new parts (calipers, hoses, master cylinder, shoes, hardware, brake switch); this was followed by professional brake inspection - New clutch servo installed - New sun visors and new rubber floor mat installed in front half of truck - New Kenwood stereo/CD player/MP3 player installed on roll bar in a weather-proof “Tractor Tunes” (www.tractortunes.com) speaker unit. This not only sounds great, but it prevents having to cut the dash for a stereo, and prevents having to cut the door panels for speaker installation. Other helpful info: - It has the original Toyota 2F engine (straight 6 engine known for being “bullet proof”; I have never had any problems with it) - No rust. - Glass is all good. - Original heaters work great. - Never taken off-road while in my possession; has only been driven around town on weekends and occasionally to work (I have actually had people come in to my workplace asking about it and commenting on how nice it is). - Always garaged. - VERY clean inside and out. - Nice painted tailgate included for driving with the top and rear doors removed. - Things I would work on if I were to keep it include: getting the dome light to work, getting the wiper fluid system to work (was never a priority), fixing the sagging headliner. The ambulance window rubbers have some early signs of cracking but they will be good for quite some time to come. - The dash gauge cluster has some surface rust on it, so I always wanted to have it restored, but I kind of like the patina look of it, so I left it. This is everything that I can think of. Please ask questions if you have any. I hate to lose this vehicle, but it pains me to see it sit in the garage when it should be doing what it was built to do … off-roading, camping, rock climbing, exploring. This is not a show vehicle, but it is probably one of the nicest FJ's you will see that you would still want to take out and have some fun with. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. On Nov-26-13 at 18:37:27 PST, seller added the following information: This truck does drip a little oil. It is very mild. I put cardboard under it in the garage, and there were just a few small spots from over the summer. The mileage shown refers to what is on the odometer. I have no way of knowing if these are the actual miles, but I suspect due to the age of the vehicle that the odometer has rolled over.
