1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible, Deluxe Interior, 4spd & Rally Gauges. Class A title with 80,000+ original miles – Partially completed project car with most parts to complete. Drove car for about 5 years then started restoration project. Body Tag Info 01B – (Built 1st week of Jan 1968) ST-68-22667 - (1968 Pontiac Firebird 2 with Custom Interior 26, Convertible 67) TR 259 – (Custom Option Strato- Bucket with Custom Vinyl interior in Black) Deluxe interior Option) LOR 2948 Body – (built in Lordstown, OH car#2948) 1-2 Paint – (Autumn Bronze Exterior with Black convertible top) Engine Code Casting # 9786133 - 1967 400 Engine Code XU 644576 - (Engine Built in 1967, 400 CU 290 HP) The car is rolling chassis that currently has an entire subframe sandblasted, sealed and painted aluminum with PPG Acrylic. New subframe mounts & hardware. Body sandblasted, sealed and painted PPG Acrylic Porsche Red from front firewall to front of rear wheels. 3M Rubberized undercoating to front weld line of firewall/footwell to rear wheels. Windshield and metal dash painted gloss black. Rear of car is sandblasted and fully sealed. Truck was rusted and cut out. Have full steel trunk pan kit to fix rust (now cut out). Includes floor trunk pan, extensions, fuel tank braces. Everything to weld in to make, look and function like OEM. Complete new sealed kit from Classis Industries. Good moving trunk, hinges and spring. Driver side Quarter panel needs to be fixed correctly. Was hit prior to purchase and bondo-ed and should be fixed to be totally perfect. 400 Firebird motor 2bolt main. Professionally rebuilt, balanced, ported and painted Porsche Red. Complete CompCam valve train and cam kit, fully balanced, Milodon 6qt low profile Oil pan, Moroso Chrome valve covers, stud girdles, crank rod & piston kit, RA III oil adapter, Felpro gaskets, valley pan and water pump housing is aluminum jet coated. Hi Volume Oil pump. Ported heads with valve job. 500HP with about 550Ft Lbs. All ARP Bolts for crank, engine and accessories. Front suspension is painted Porsche Red. Has fully rebuilt and painted steering box, quick ratio 2.25:1, largest aftermarket sway bar painted with urethane sway bar bushings. Has a 14” Corvette ZR1 84-88 Brake Kit on front with finned aluminum PBR quick change calipers and powder coated brackets. New Parts – OEM and Aftermarket: New GM 68 Quadra jet Carb OEM in box, Starter NIB, painted water pump new NIB, OEM GM Alt, all pulleys and brackets are all chrome and complete for power steering and alternator. Painted balancer. New Ram Air III long branch exhaust manifolds, reproductions. New Flywheel from Hayes, New MSD AL6 Ign, cap, rotors, New HEI Ign, fan clutch, new OEM carb Tstat, OEM battery cables, both. New full new body mounting hardware kit for fenders, hood. New Stainless Steel brake and fuel lines. New Speedo cables and other misc cables. 68 Deluxe Interior Door panels, pull handles and echuscions with Firebird emblems. Panels need to be restored but good backing panels. Good chrome, emblems, pulls. Rare Original Chrome Glove box and ashtray with Firebird emblem. Sun visors with all hardware, needs recovering but perfect functioning hardware. Dash wiring harness is nearly new with all complete and functioning terminals. Perfect Condition installed and used for about 3 months before restoring car. Front headlight wiring harness, nearly new too, perfect condition.
