Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this 1971 Chevrolet Custom C20 Calfiornia survivor patina shop truck. This truck was used by Ongaro & Sons plumbing, heating, and air conditioning service company for years in Northern California Bay Area. This truck was factory equipped with a V8, automatic transmission, and power brakes. The engine is a GM crate 350 with less than 20k miles on it. The engine runs good and has had the following work recently done: removed and detailed, new water pump, thermostat, full tune up, rebuilt carb, new alternator, new fuel pump, hoses, belts, oil change, filters, new battery, and more. The automatic transmission shifts smooth. Brakes all work as they should and have had the following new parts added recently: master cylinder, brake booster, flex lines, front brake pads, rear brake shoes, and wheel cylinders. Suspension has been upgraded with components from a 1977 1/2 ton C10 truck which include: rear end, front control arms with new bushings added, and disc brakes. The truck has been lowered with the following work being done recently: cut front springs, rear flip kit, rear shackle kit, frame C-notched, front and rear shocks, and shock relocators. The rims and 18" billet aluminum wheels with custom made adapters for stock hubcaps to mount and adapters for rims. The interior has been recently freshened up with the following being done: new stock seat cover, arms rests, dash pad, rubber floor mat, sill plates, and powder coated door panels. Most of the electrical works as it should: headlights, tail lights, marker lights, turn signals, brake lights, license plate light, dash lights, wipers, heater, gauges, etc. The only exceptions are the horn, radio, and gas gauge functions, but bounces. Paint is mostly original with an amazing patina to it. Logos are also original. Overall the truck is fairly solid and dry with the exception of some minimal areas of rust. This truck runs and drives well and was built to be a daily driver, and I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and drive it anywhere. This truck has had loads of compliments everywhere I have taken it. It has a great look to it and is very different from most of the trucks you normally see. This truck is currently registered with a clear California title. This truck is being listed for a friend.
