1976 Pontiac Trans Am Factory 455, 4-Speed Fantastic Driver Grade InvestmentVIN# 2W87W6N517920 (2=Pontiac, W=Trans Am, 8=V8, 7=2 Door, W=455, 6=1976, 517920=build sequence) History: Very detailed documents starting with the build sheet as well as original Pontiac dealer inspection sheet, original photos, service history, etc.Body/Structure: Numbers matching factory Silver. Body is extremely solid with a few surface rust spots on the lower portion (lower front fenders) of the body. There is no rot on the car. The bottom of the doors are solid as well as the quarters and lower quarters. The vehicle was painted in the 1990's and appears to have had new quarters installed. The front enduro bumper is very nice with no issues; however, the lower front bumper as well as the rear bumper shows stress cracks. All new factory GM decals have been installed including the Phoenix/Bird. It also has all new door, window and trunk weatherstripping along with felt strips. Trunk is solid with no rot and frame is solid with only surface rust.Interior: Numbers matching blue interior with very little wear, no tears or cracks. Door panels are very nice condition, Seats are very nice condition, carpet is very nice condition with no rips or stains, headliner is nice, console is solid. All gages work as they should. Stereo is a Panasonic aftermarket (vintage 80's style) with a graphic equalizer. Only interior concern is a cracked dash (as they all seem to do in the area directly below the rear view mirror)Engine/Transmission: 1974 Trans Am 455 Engine completely rebuilt including new carb, new water pump, new belts & hoses, new exhaust manifolds, new starter, new plugs, wires, cap & button, thermostat, etc. Runs Very strong with no smoke, noise or issues. Transmission is a Borg Warner Super T-10 with a new flywheel, pressure plate, throw out bearing, bell housing, clutch fork and clutch. I believe due to lack of use (and reinforced by a local transmission facility); the transmission slips out of second gear sometimes and makes some noise in lower gears.
