Vehicle Detail
I am selling my vehicle 1996 Volkswagen Passat VR6, with 5 speed manual transmission. Car was purchased about year ago and was used a daily commuter car.It has a high mileage approximately 220,000, it still registered and I am driving it. During my ownership I''ve taken care for the vehiclekeeping it running according to the maintenance schedule. Regular oil changes and often Pre and After trip inspection for being sureall fluids are at the proper level and all the safety equipment works. For it's age and mileage I can say the vehicle is looking in good condition. It is equipped with VR 6 Cyl Engine. It has timing chain, so no need to worry about the timing belt. Body style 4 doors sedan. It has a few dings here and there, there is some rust on the driver side door near the door handle and lower left side, but there are no holesand vehicle passed the safety inspection. It also has a operational sliding/ tilting sunroof. THE Good:Recent tune up including spark plugs and ignition wires replacement.New ignition coil was put last month.O2 sensor wiring was repaired so no Check Engine light.Manual Transmission and clutch are working alright.Front tires have about 70% of the tread, Rear tires have about 50 % of the tread left.Good exhaust no rattle and no excessive smoke THE Not So GoodRear passenger side door doesn't open, might be an issue with the inner child lock and/or door handleOnly driver side window is moving up and down, the others don't.Emergency brake is not working, it needs adjustment, Small coolant leak - near the thermostat. Doesn't affect the way it runs just check the antifreeze regularly.Break pads are in good condition front and back, eventually it will need the rear brake rotors changed with next brake work.( 4 disc brakes).Headliner is missingNo radio. Kelly Blue book suggests $1,500 value for it's condition. I am selling this car at auction so the highest bidder who wins it, it may get much better deal. Car is still registered and I am driving it so there may be slight difference in the mileage as shown atthe start time of this auction. Have a title to transfer the ownership. If you are Massachusetts driver you have to register the car firstbefore driving it on public roads or have it transported to your place of residence. Serious bidders only Deposit due within 24 hours $150.00 Must arrange for local pickup, I can assist with finding haulers.Update: Check Engine light came back on for MAF sensor Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input, code P102.It may just need a cleaning, or replacements are sold on Ebay for $ 50-$75. I removed the MAF sensor, cleaned it with Mass Airflow cleaner, but CEL didn't go off after resetting the OBD. Another possible reason for thismay be a vacuum leak, because the car hesitates under load.Update: 11/11/13. Took the car for oil change today. I was told it's very possible the catalytic converter could be clogged up, which is triggering the CEL for Mass Air flow sensor.
