Up for auction is a nice 1970 Honda CL 175. This "High-Pipe Scrambler" is a very cool classic bike that doesn't come up for auction very often. I'll classify the bike as being a "Survivor", as mostly everything on it is original. Overall the bike is in nice condition for a 43 year old machine with only 7967 original miles on the clock. The bike starts on the 2nd kick when cold, and on the 1st kick after it has warmed up. She runs, idles, shifts, and stops properly, and goes down the road smoothly. All of the lights, turn signals, neutral/high beam indicator, gauges, brake lights, and horn are functional. The bike also has an electric starter that cycles when you press the button, but does not start the bike. Not a problem though. as she is really easy to kick start. A replacement starter can probably be purchased for about $75 should the new owner feel so inclined. All of the original chrome shines nicely and looks great but being 43 years old is not perfect. The exhaust pipes show some typical blue-ing but are nice and shiny and have no leaks. The original paint is in decent condition but as expected there are some minor scratches here and there. The side covers are faded and the right side has a few cracks but is still fully functional. The gas cap seal is a bit worn, which will allow some gas seepage once in a while if the tank is full. The original Honda seat is also in good condition. The tires have been replaced and have excellent tread remaining. Also included with the sale is an original Honda CL175 owners manual in mint condition - how cool is that! Overall a fine example of this classic Honda. It is ready to ride and enjoy as is or it would make a great candidate for restoration. Please review the photos and I'll be happy to answer any questions. The bike is located in Montross VA 22520, and is sold "as-is, where is", with no warranty. Winning bidder must submit a $300 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auction end, and the remaining balance via certified funds within 7 days. Paypal can be used for the balance if you pay the 3% fee. I will safely hold the bike until the payment clears and will assist your shipper with loading the bike. If you are picking the bike up in person, cash payment of the balance due at time of pick-up is also OK. Depending on your location I may also be able to deliver the bike for an additional fee, probably cheaper than having it shipped.
