THIS IS A VERY LOW PRODUCTION LAST YEAR MODEL. I PICKED THE CAR UP EARLY LAST 2012 WITH A LOCKED ENGINE AND IT HAD BEEN PARKED SINCE 2001. THE PREVIOUS OWNER PURCHASED AND DROVE THE CAR ON THE WEEKENDS FROM 1995 UNTIL HE PARKED IT DUE TO A FUEL ISSUE. WHILE IT SAT I BELIEVE THE HEADGASKET LEAKED INTO #3 CYLINDER WHICH CAUSED THE MOTOR TO BE FROZEN. WHEN I GOT THE CAR I STARTED GOING THROUGH THE MECHANICALS. I PULLED THE HEAD AFTER MARVEL TREATMENTS IN THE CYLINDERS DIDN'T WORK. I WAS ABLE TO UNFREEZE THE PISTON WITH FURTHER CLEANING. THE MOTOR STARTED RIGHT UP AND TURNS EASILY NOW. DOES NOT SMOKE A BIT. MY ORIGINAL GOAL WAS TO SEE IF I COULD GET HER UNLOCKED WHICH I DID. I THEN WANTED TO SEE IF I COULD GET HER TO START, WHICH WAS FOLLOWED BY ME WANTING TO BE ABLE TO TAKE HER FOR A DRIVE. I HAVE GONE THROUGH A LOT OF THE MECHANICAL AREAS AS WELL AS SIMPLE COSMETICS. I WILL LIST ALL OF THE PARTS I HAVE CHANGED. -NEW FUEL TANK -NEW FUEL SENDER UNIT -NEW FUEL LINES -NEW CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER -NEW BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER -NEW MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP ASSY -NEW HEAD GASKET -NEW VALVE COVER GASKET -NEW PVC DIAPHRAM -NEW BATTERY CABLES -NEW GENERATOR -COMPLETELY REBUILT STARTER BY A/B ELECTRIC IN NASHVILLE -COMPLETELY TESTED AND SEALED RADIATOR BY A-1 RADIATIOR IN NASHVILLE -NEW COOLANT HOSE KIT -NEW COOLANT GASKETS -NEW BATTERY -NEW ELECTRONIC DISTRIBUTOR -NEW WIRES AND PLUGS -COMPLETELY OVERHAULDED SU CARBS AND LINKAGES BY DANA AT SU CARBURETORS WITH POLISHED POTS -NEW AIR FILTERS AND RAM HORNS -ALL NEW CARPET KIT (I DID NOT GLUE IN THE KICK PANEL PIECES IN CASE YOU WANTED TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE CAR) KIT WILL STILL BE VERY USABLE IF YOU REMOVE. -NEW RUBBER FLOOR MATS -I BUILT A NEW REAR TRUNK DECK AND BOUGHT NEW CARPET LINERS AND PAD -ALL TIRES ON THE CAR ARE BRAND NEW KUMHOS FROM DISCOUNT TIRE (ONLY 30 MILES ON THEM) AND THE SPARE HAS GOOD TREAD. ALSO NEW INTERTUBES -NEW LOWERING SPRINGS ALL THE WAY AROUND -NEW FRONT SHOCKS, TIE ROD ENDS, UPPER BALL JOINTS -NEW SLOTTED AND DRILLED ROTORS UP FRONT -NEW BRAKE PADS -SPEED BLEEDERS INSTALLED IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM -NEW LEATHER SHIFT KNOB AND BOOT -NEW TUNNEL COVER -NEW ROLL BAR -NEW RACE SCREEN THERE IS PROBABLY SOME MORE I CAN'T THINK OF NOW. I ALSO HAVE SOME PARTS I HAVENT HAD A CHANCE TO INSTALL. NEW HEADLIGHT WIRING RELAY KIT, NEW VISOR KIT I DIDNT USE BECAUSE I WENT A DIFFERENT ROUTE. SOME RANDOM TRIM AND INTERIOR PIECES IN BOXES. I HAVE THE FACTORY WINDSHEILD FRAME, GLASS AND A NEW SEAL TOO. I ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL SEATS AND TOP FRAME THAT WILL COME WITH THE CAR. THERE IS A BOX FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER THAT HAS SOME MORE PARTS I DIDNT USE THAT CAN BE ADDED INCLUDING THE CENTER CONSOLE COVER AND I BELIEVE THE RADIO IS IN THERE. I HAVENT TESTED ANY OF THE SPARE ELECTRICAL ITEMS THAT ARE IN THE BOX. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES WELL. THE CLUTCH FEELS GOOD, WAS CHANGED PRIOR TO IT BEING PARKED. WILL BARK A MEAN 2ND GEAR, LOL. THIS IS MY FIRST DUEL CARB SETUP AND I DONT HAVE IT TUNED JUST RIGHT YET. I HAVE THE NUT FLAT TURN OUTS RECORDED IF YOU ARE GOOD AT PLAYING WITH THESE. I DIDN'T ORDER THE INSULATOR GASKETS FROM THE CARBS TO THE INTAKE WHEN I PUT THEM BACK ON THE CAR. I'D SAY NEW GASKETS AND SOMEONE WITH TUNING KNOWLEDGE AND SHE'LL SCREAM. THE BRAKES MAY NEED ANOTHER GO AROUND BLEEDING, SHE STOPS BUT YOU KIND OF HAVE TO PLAN IT. NO LEAKS WORTH MENTIONING. WHAT I MEAN IS THAT I HAVE ONLY EVER SEEN A FEW DROPS OF OIL ON THE GROUND AFTER PARKED IN THE GARAGE FOR A WHILE. NO COOLANT LEAKS, FUEL, ETC. SHOULD BE A GOOD START FOR SOMEONE WANTING A SOLID PROJECT. EVERY GOOD PART REMOVED WILL ALSO COME WITH THE CAR. I LOVE THIS LITTLE CAR I JUST HAVE A LITTLE TOO MUCH ON MY PLATE WITH OTHER PROJECTS AND NEED TO FREE UP SOME SPACE AND MONEY. I WISH I COULD KEEP THEM ALL!!! =) TO THE PREVIOUS OWNERS KNOWLEDGE HE IS UNAWARE OF A RESTORATION. THE COLOR IS PRETTY CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT. IF SOMEONE DID ANY WORK PRIOR TO HIM GETTING IT IN 1995 IT WAS A WHILE BACK. I DID REPLACE THE INTERIOR DOOR PANELS AND REAR QUARTER INTERIOR PANELS WITH SOME OEM ONES I FOUND ONLINE. THE REAR PANEL INSIDE I SIMPLY RECOVERED IN BLACK VYNIL...I WAS NOT ABLE TO SOURCE AN ORIGINAL. I HAVE NOT GONE THROUGH THE ELECTRONICS. THE KEY AND IGNITION WORK, THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WORKS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK. YOU WILL HAVE TO SORT THE HEAD LIGHTS (I HAVE A WHOLE RELAY KIT INCLUDED) AND THE OTHER VARIOUS CONTROLS INSIDE. WIRING SEEMS TO BE COMPLETE AND IN GOOD SHAPE, IT WILL JUST HAVE TO BE TRACED DOWN TO ITS LOCATIONS. ITS ALL BUNDLED UNDER THE DASH FOR THE MOST PART. SEATS ARE FROM A 70'S MODEL 280ZX....AGAIN THE ORIGINAL LOWBACK ARE INCLUDED BUT WILL DEF NEED TO BE REDONE. THERE IS A FIBERGLASS PATCH IN THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORBOARD THAT IS PRETTY FIRM...OTHER THAN THAT THE CAR IS PRETTY MUCH RUST FREE. SOME SURFACE RUST IN VARIOUS AREAR THAT COULD BE EASILY ADDRESSED. I HAD TO CUT THE FACTORY WINDSHIELD FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE IT MEETS THE DASH AREA...FRAME IS INCLUDED BUT WILL HAVE TO BE REWELDED IF YOU WANT TO REINSTALL THE WINDSHEILD. DOORS STICK A LITTLE. HANDLES AND MECHANISMS AT THE LATCH AREA MOVE FREELY, JUST NEEDS ADJUSTING. *********PLEASE PLEASE SEE ALL PICS AND READ THROUGH THE DESCRIPTION IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
