Up for grabs is a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS TDI--diesel. 156,800 miles. Automatic transmission. This car runs/drives excellent. It consistently gets 40 MPG. A/C + heat work great. Sunroof/moonroof that works great. Power windows and locks. Has a 6 disc factory cd changer in the trunk. Brand new spare tire in the trunk. The car has a trailer hitch and is wired for trailer brake lights. The oil, oil filter, and fuel filter are changed on a regular basis. The following work has been performed on the vehicle since I have owned it: new glow plugs/glow plug harness @ 120k miles, new BF Goodrich tires @ 130k miles, new brake pads and rotors on all 4 corners @ 140k miles, new timing belt + water pump+all timing belt pulleys @ 142,500 miles, new serpentine belt + idler pulley + tensioner pulley @ 142,500 miles, new injection pump seals @ 142,500 miles, new thermostat and radiator flush @ 142,500 miles, new alternator @ 154k miles. This car will run another couple hundred thousand miles with no problems. The car does NOT burn any oil. The paint and interior have flaws...it is a 13 year old USED car. The passenger side on the front bumper has some paint chipped off of it....see pics. There are minor dings and superficial scratches present. The headliner cloth is gone, and the headliner has been painted black. The "oh shit" handles are missing. The tachometer does not work. The seats do have some staining.....again, this is a 13 year old car which has been used as a daily driver. If you're looking for a mint condition car, don't bother looking here. But if you're looking for a very mechanically sound driver that will pay for itself in fuel savings then this may be the car for you. There are a few MINOR things on this car that I would like everyone to know....1st off there is a small coolant leak coming from one of the coolant hoses under the hood. I have to add about 8oz. of coolant to it every 2-3 weeks. The door latches hang up after you unlock the doors with the key fob. You have to lightly bump the door with your fist to get it to open. It does not do this again until you lock/unlock the doors. And last...in really cold weather the electronic theft protection in the key acts up and sometimes takes 2-3 tries with the key before it will crank. Strange sounding, I know but this is a common problem with vw's...google it....I believe it can be corrected by getting a new key cut and programmed. This does not happen at all when it is warm outside. I am located in Biloxi, Mississippi. I have a clear title in hand. I reserve the right to end the auction early, the car is for sale locally.
