1981 toyota pickup, 4x4. Real head-turner. Very rare, rust free example. Pictures show how clean this rig is. I have switched my focus onto my toyota 80 series landcruiser, and this one no longer has space at my folks place. Sad to sell her - as she's been the best toyota pickup I've owned. **there is NO body rust on the bed (or anywhere else) AT ALL** Bed is in near-perfect shape and shows some age in its patina. Many people comment on this truck EVERY day and ask about it, suggesting it was in a time capsule for the last 30 years. You'd almost think it rolled off the lot last week. Amazing. Truck spent almost all its life in california, imported into Canada in 2008 from San Francisco. I was told original owner had the vehicle until 2008, and I bought it off the 2nd owner. I stored this vehicle at my parents house in Victoria BC while I was posted overseas with the military, and used the truck only when I was home for leave. Truck has been babied and taken care of. Stored indoors for much of the past 5 years, with light winter use in victoria and vancouver island. Few drives up the mountain over christmas breaks now show in the start of surface corrosion on the frame - which could be wire-brushed off and coated to protect the frame from any further ageing. New in last year: Shocks (monroe), brakes front and rear, muffler, tires (235, 55, 15 toyo ATs), battery, left headlight and a few minor bits. Warn winch fitted. CB radio (citizen) works and is fitted). Mileage may be original, as the carfax reports from when I bought it showed mileage back to 1991, which was very low - less than 4000km / year, if I recall correctly. All original and unmolested condition (save smittybilt brush bars). Original am/fm stereo fitted. No aftermarket deck or speakers every fitted. Dash not cracked at all. Headliner perfect. Interior shows wear, but is clean and in good condition. 22R engine is strong and comfortably cruises and passes on the highway. Transmission shifts smooth; no issues. Oil changed every 3000 miles without fail. Some oil leaking at oil pan, but engine burns no oil. Carb serviced every 2 years or so by specialist in town. The bad (things I would recommend working on): Drivers seat needs to be replaced or reupholstered. I'm currently looking for a original unit, but haven't found one in perfect condition yet. Front right signal light (marker) on fender needs to be reinstalled (i have it), as the plastic backing crumbled from age (standard issue on these trucks). Bumpers are getting a bit rusty on the ends, and I was going to sandblast and powder coat them to original condition. That still needs to be done. Some minor scratches/dings should be dressed properly so that they don't ever rust in the future. That's about it. The truck is in great shape. The best I've ever seen - except for a total restoration. These are wonderful trucks and will go forever if well taken care of. I would hope that the truck goes to warmer climates or is babied by anyone wishing to keep it north of the border. It's a total classic, and I wish I had the room to keep it now that I'm back in Victoria. Good luck bidding. Shipping: Buyer to collect or arrange shipping.
