Vehicle Detail
This is a true 1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula. It is an original U code VIN # Formula Model Firebird, VIN# 2U87T2N520755. The car has 130,000 miles on it. The car has been primered grey. It is an original numbers matching WK Code Pontiac 400 engine and muncie M20 4 speed manual transmission in car. The car has a original nice fiberglass dual snorkel scoop hood. It has 15x7" Pontiac rally II wheels. The body on this car is nice and straight.has new alternator, and new high volume fuel pump. It has all the chrome and emblems on it. The car has original black interior, complete and in nice shape. The car does have a clear Oregon title in my name, no brands on title. The car is primered and looks good as a daily driver, but would require a some body prep work to be ready for paint. This car runs and drives well and has lots of power.i have added a picture of the body tag. also i have the original points distributer, and coil for this numbers matching car, which i have included ,and is placed into the trunk for the buyer. The car has good glass, no cracks. Front windshield is brand new. This car runs great and is dependable. It has no leaks of any kind, no brake, coolant, oil, transmission or engine, or power steering leaks. All the lights (headlights, tail lights, side lights, turn lights, brake lights) work well, except the reverse lights which do not work. It handles nice and is easy and fun to drive. Car has power steering, and tilt wheel. non AC heating, and manual brakes. It has a set of four Pontiac 15x7” rally II wheels with matching caps and trim rings and 235 70 R15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires in great shape. The brakes work well, even the E-brake. Brakes don’t pull when stopping. Rear end is posi-track, runs quiet and smooth, no clunking or howling. It is 2.73 gear ratio. The engine is an original, numbers matching, great running 1972 Pontiac WK code 400 4 barrel engine. the engine has the original 1972 #7K3 heads, original intake manifold and exhaust manifolds. Engine has great oil pressure, 60 psi and stays cool and does not over-heat. The engine has been completely rebuilt with new .040" over pistons, rings, crank was turned 10/10, new clevitte rod,and main 77 bearings, melling oil pump, new cam shaft bearings, new cam shaft and lifters, new timing chain, High Energy Ignition distributor, quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor, original cast iron exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust pipe and flow master mufflers, chrome 14” air cleaner, all new gaskets and seals in engine, new 8mm spark plug wires, and autolite spark plugs. Engine has about 50 miles on it now. Engine will run well on premium pump gas and does not require any extra octane booster. The transmission is a numbers matching to the car, it is a muncie M20 4 speed with large output shaft,32 splined tail shaft(same size as the turbo 400 shaft),and the imput shaft is 26 splined.,and has original hurst shifter and linkage, and shifter knob, and has the reverse lock-out rod. Transmission shifts well. The car comes with a spare tire and wheel. Also comes with a working jack and lug wrench. The car sounds really nice, engine starts easy and runs well and has lots of power. The interior is black and in good condition, looks nice. The seats are original but the front has been re-covered. Covers look ok, a little wear on the drivers seat. The carpet is a little worn. The headliner is in good condition. The door panels are in good shape. Center console and plastic panels inside are all in very good shape. The dash looks nice but it did have a crack in the center top, but has been repaired. The car has working 160mph speedometer and working 8000 RPM tachometer, volt gauge works. Fuel gauge works, with a new sending unit installed in the gas tank. The clock does not work. The oil pressure and water temperature are hooked up to after market gauges located on the center of the console. New rubber boots on the 4 speed shifter with original shifter knob. New clutch and brake pedal pads. Radio opening has not been cut or modified so a factory radio will still fit in just fine. It has a very nice wood grain dash bezel. It has an original steering wheel. This car is a factory non air conditioning car. The heater works well. The horn does not work. The windshield wipers work well on both speeds and are the hideaway style wipers. The fiberglass hood is in nice shape with no broken corners and no broken out fins. The floor pans are not rusted through but have some rust pitting, a couple tiny pin holes in the floor boards. The rear quarters have some rust repair work in the lower sections, could use some finish body work to prep them before paint. No rust around the rear window or on the top of the car. Bottoms of the doors and rocker panels are rust free except for a little rust pitting on the bottom of the drivers side door. Front valance is in nice shape. A little rust repair on the core support just below the battery. The trunk lid is not rusted. The trunk pan is original, but does have some pitting but is not rusted through. The only bondo spots that I can see on the car are on the bottoms of the rear quarters, rear valance, rear quarter panel on the passenger side. The body on this car is in great shape. It is very nice and straight, but will require some finish prep work before repainting. This car looks good and runs well. It is very hard to find a formula Firebird in this nice of shape.full price within 7 days of end of auction and pick-up car within 10 days of end of auction.
