Vehicle Detail
This original 1930/31 Ford Model A 5 Window Coupe belonged to a retired farmer here in Northeast Ohio. He owned the car for many years, and prior to that the car belonged to his brother. It was a restoration project that they worked on through the years. Due to health issues and age, it became too difficult to finish. I am selling this Model A, as I purchased it, with a Notarized Bill of Sale Only. No Title. The car starts right up and runs good, no smoke, no unusual noises, shifts nicely and I think it will make someone a good running Model A. The car has the float-a-motor engine mounts, probably installed several years ago when they put the engine back in the frame. I just rebuilt the carburetor and installed a new battery along with a new accelerator spring. The water pump has the typical drip after it's been run and will probably need a new packing. It appears that the brakes were gone through by the previous owner and if I remember correctly that is what he told me. You can see the nuts and carter pins on the backing plates appear new. The wheels are the 16 inch Model B style wheels in good condition with original hubcaps. The cap on the spare appears to be a newer cap. Tires have age cracks in the sidewalls but still have most of their tread and appear useable to me. The body on the coupe is all original metal with exception to the rumble seat deck lid and splash aprons which are older quality steel reproductions. The back fenders and probably the fronts have had patches welded in them and various repairs made. The body and doors look very nice and overall the car is very solid and looks good. This car would make a nice driver, Rat Rod, or with more extensive work, a restored car. Several years ago the previous owner installed a new top and interior which still look very nice. The rumble seat upholstery looks like new but does have a quarter size hole on the front edge that could be repaired by moving the pleat. The floor mat is new and all the glass is in excellent shape. This Model A comes with new headlight wiring, along with a variety of misc. parts. (see picture) I also have the original bumper brackets and bumpers that go with the car. It is missing the speedometer and horn, but they are available. Available for your inspection prior to bidding. If you have a zero rating or excessive negatives, please contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed. Full payment due within 5 days of auctions end by Bank wire transfer, cashier's check with 10 days to clear or cash. If you have any questions feel free to call. 412-952-3239.
