BID TO WIN THIS ONE NO RESERVE, SOLD TO THE HIGH BIDDER… This your chance to own one of the most sought after American muscle cars at an affordable price. This car should be viewed as a solid investment, check the sales history of the 68 69 Camaro over the last ten years. Enjoy it for a few years and resell at a considerable profit. 1968 Chevrolet Camaro base, Started out as a small block base model and was converted in the 70's to a 454 4 speed 10 bolt posi. I bought this car with a clear California title (copy included) now retitled in Illinois in my name. I was told that car belonged to the previous owner’s father who used to terrorize the streets of Sacramento throughout the late 60's and 70's and even had the car impounded in 1972 for street racing. The car underwent a complete restoration at some point, I would guess 10 years ago? Within the last 2 years the 454 was completely rebuilt with roller rockers, cam, carb etc... Recently the 4 speed transmission, flywheel, clutch, exhaust, ring and pinion, drive shaft, shifter, fuel tank and fuel pump all replaced new. I bought the car as a project for my restoration shop with the intent of undergoing a complete restoration. After completely disassembling the car we made the decision not to repaint the car as it is a very well cared for "older" single stage paint job, which looks very period correct and shows well. The body has no rust issues and would not need repaint unless you desire a high end show car. The paint is NOT perfect and has some imperfections (small scratches, nicks, touch ups). This car is an above average “driver” or an exceptional platform for a block and repaint with virtually little to no bodywork. Looks like it had rear quarters at some point; however remaining sheet metal looks very original to the car. No evidence of any major body damage or repair. Quite frankly the older paint job looked too good to take it back down to bare metal and I feel someone else would appreciate this period correct look. Standing 15 feet away it looks great; upon close inspection expect to see flaws consistent with the age of the restoration. We just "refreshed" the entire car, disassembled the car, removed sub frame and drive train. Body was wet sanded small areas blended (touched up) and finally buffed. Frame, engine, transmission, engine bay and all related parts were cleaned and repainted. All bushings and fasteners required for reassemble were replaced. Rear floor pans were replaced with new ones as they had some soft spots in them. The interior only needed a fresh carpet and front seats recovered (remaining interior looks original and in good shape). Headliner looks original and shows some wear. We inspected all brake parts, shocks, front end parts and replaced brake lines. All fluids were changed as well, newer plugs and wires. The car is set up as "street racer" as it is equipped with frame ties (bolted on) traction bars, Holley 850 double pumper (no choke butterfly), a high end electric fuel pump and a MSD ignition system, headers and what looks like 2 3/4-3'' exhaust all the way to the back. The cam gives the car a very healthy lopey sound and the car is a bit cold blooded until warmed up. The car seems to be very fast and wants to run. Someone removed the heater box on the inside of the car (reduce weight??), however the heater box on the firewall side was just replaced new. New parts are available for around $200.00 to restore the heat. Newer American racing wheel with Goodrich g-force sport tires, 215/40/17 front 275/40/17 rear. Great sound system (C/D player) The car starts, runs and drives very nice and turns heads everywhere, a perfect turn-key street car. The starting price is well below what its worth and what I have in it, however I am banking that bidders will set the price at fair market value... SOLD to the highest bidder!! I have tried to describe the car the best I could, although I highly recommend you inspect the car in person prior to bidding. I require a Nonrefundable $700.00 PayPal deposit within 24 hours of the conclusion of the auction No exceptions!!! I will NOT SHIP!!!!!!!! Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
