hi and thnx for looking. I always knew Volvos were cool cars, made in Belgium OR Sweden, they are safe and reliable. I remember 240's rocked and 740-850's ruled. a friend or two had them in high school. my first Volvo was a V70 wagon (1998) and I loved it even after 203k miles ~!~ but, I just now discovered how really great these cars are in the AWD XC version. this car runs and drives simply great. nice and comfy, solid, good on gas, predictable and with the confidence of all wheel drive handling. this V70 XC is just getting going. with lo-miles for the year, great service history, comes from a good home and real traditional Volvo build. but, they are not without fault and this is an older car. aside from the great ride, drive and looks... I was surprised to see an oil spot under the car, and it was down about a half quart of oil. parked at my home, and as photographed, I was concerned and brought it to my mechanic (actually formerly called Swedish Motorworks, Fairfield, CT. I also had three SAABs in the last 10 years). Long story short, the oil leak was coming from a front right cam seal which means pretty much a big job. on his advice, we replaced the timing belt (had oil on it), water pump (didn't want to revisit this later) and what is called a cam positioning pulley (oil pressure activated) on the right side, along with oil and filter, gaskets, the cam shaft seal and more !! parts and labor $1432.21. yes, I maybe could have saved $200 here or there, but I go here a lot and they warranty the work. OK, that's done. I am looking to get back some of my repair costs and some of the value of a really great Volvo wagon that can serve the next person for another 90,000 miles. and this car will likely do it. nice body and paint, clean interior, AWD, full power, proper gauges, decent tires, great brakes, comfortable, quiet exhaust, battery, electric, horn, wipers, lights, gauges wheels, factory stereo, handles super with great suspension and plenty of ability to move you around town or blast down the highway. a pleasure to drive and be seen in ~!~. yes, there is a bump and scuff or two. there are scratches in the paint on both sides along the doors (hard to photo) and, sure, you could spend some money on a detail. but, I just did all the heavy lifting and you get to drive it home at a low eBay price. bid and buy with confidence... please feel free to email or call. better yet, just stop by or send a friend, take it for a drive or drive it home. j. bettes 800 Clinton ave Bridgeport, CT 06604 203.345.4470 office / fax 203.258.3356 cell / anytime
