You are viewing a beautiful 1983 Buick Electra Park Avenue. It has 51,200 ORIGINAL and DOCUMENTED miles and has been garage kept and well cared for since new. I purchased the car from the original owner’s estate last month. The original owner actually ordered the car brand new from State College Buick in State College, PA. I have the original window sticker, owner's manuals, and many service records throughout its entire life. This beautiful car stickered for almost $16,000 new! She is dressed with the genuine Buick chrome wheels, padded vinyl top, with contrasting factory pinstripe. The Buick is equipped with power drivers seat, air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power antenna, intermittent wipers, automatic trunk release, limited slip differential, cruise control, tilt wheel, tufted cloth/velvet interior, and vinyl padded top. Overall the car is immaculate. The title is clear and has no liens. The title also documents the original mileage. This is an extremely comfortable car, and one of the last years of the traditional rear wheel drive Buick’s…with the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 5.0 liter engine. The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly. Exterior: The original paint is a striking metallic blue with contrasting navy blue vinyl padded top. The paint on the hood and trunk is wearing thin and should be repainted; however the condition of the paint on the sides of the car are like brand new. A good body shop could repaint just the hood and trunk without having to paint the entire car so mismatch should not be an issue. I was going to do this, but instead would rather the next owner decide whether they want to spend the extra money. From 20 feet the paint on the hood and trunk are OK. Like I said, the paint on the sides of the car are like brand new. The chrome and the stainless steel also shine brilliantly. There is some minor fade to the chrome finish around the tail lights, but only noticeable up close. The vinyl top is also in very good shape. The factory chrome wheels are original to the car and still shine nice but have some minor rust around the perimeter of the rims….which are not noticeable in the pictures. There is no road rash on the wheels. The exterior is overall very nice and is obvious of the care it has received. The underbody is also in great shape, and according to the previous owner’s daughter, it stayed in the garage during the winter months, so there is very minimal surface scale underneath, unlike many of the cars from the Northeast. The condition confirms this. There is no rust under the trunk lid and very minimal surface scale under the doors….a brillo pad would likely remove this. There is a small shopping cart ding on the right rear quarter panel, which a paintless dent removal specialist could probably eliminate fairly cheap. There are some minor scratches here and there, but nothing noteworthy to mention. Again, the car is in very nice shape, and is ready for the local cruise in. All the body panels appear to be the original paint and there is no evidence of bondo anywhere. Interior: The interior is stunning, including the navy blue velvet tufted seats (part of the Park Avenue package) which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car! The seats are soft, much like a living room sofa. It was obviously NEVER smoked in. Cigarette lighters were never used. There are no rips, stains or holes. The navy blue carpets are also like new (and very soft/plush), and include aftermarket floor mats. The headliner does not sag. The dash is beautiful. Arm rests are like new….no wear, stains, etc. Even the stitching in the seats is like brand new. However the woodgrain on the top portion of the passenger interior door panel has some fading. The power equipment goodies all work, except for the clock, and the drivers side power seat can be temperamental but can usually be worked to the desired setting. For me, once I set the desired position, I leave it alone and never fool with it, so it’s been just fine for me. But if you’re the type to regularly adjust the seat then it will need some attention. Amazingly, the power antenna still works. Also, the cruise, power windows, locks, A/C, radio, etc. all work well. Mechanical: The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth. As mentioned earlier, the motor is the 5.0 engine which was both economical and reliable. The transmission shifts smooth and the fluid is still red. It passed the PA safety inspection with flying colors and is valid through July 2014. My mechanic also inspected the fluids, hoses, and belts and said they look fine. The A/C compressor was recently converted to a brand new AC Delco Compressor with R-134, which enables future servicing much more affordable. I have many of the service records throughout the car’s life. The tires are like new…have only two or maybe three thousand miles on them…they are the top-of–the-line Cooper LifeLiner Touring tires. All 4 match. The spare has never been out of the trunk. The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes stop straight. The exhaust system appears to be newer, and even has the correct OEM factory style resonator, resulting in a very quiet purr. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show! Overall: If you are looking for a great example of the last of the traditional full size Buick, this one’s for you. The car is gorgeous and gets lots of compliments. I have yet to see another Buick just like it. I’ve sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback. I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will bedisappointed. As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid. Iwould not be afraid to drive this car across the country. It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you. If you get the winning bid and are not completely satisfied upon your physical inspection, you can walk away from the vehicle, less $125 of your deposit (to pay for the cost of having to relist on eBay). You are viewing a beautiful 1983 Buick Electra Park Avenue. It has 51,200 ORIGINAL and DOCUMENTED miles and has been garage kept and well cared for since new. I purchased the car from the original owner’s estate last month. The original owner actually ordered the car brand new from State College Buick in State College, PA. I have the original window sticker, owner's manuals, and many service records throughout its entire life. This beautiful car stickered for almost $16,000 new! She is dressed with the genuine Buick chrome wheels, padded vinyl top, with contrasting factory pinstripe. The Buick is equipped with power drivers seat, air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power antenna, intermittent wipers, automatic trunk release, limited slip differential, cruise control, tilt wheel, tufted cloth/velvet interior, and vinyl padded top. Overall the car is immaculate. The title is clear and has no liens. The title also documents the original mileage. This is an extremely comfortable car, and one of the last years of the traditional rear wheel drive Buick’s…with the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 5.0 liter engine. The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly.
Exterior:
The original paint is a striking metallic blue with contrasting navy blue vinyl padded top. The paint on the hood and trunk is wearing thin and should be repainted; however the condition of the paint on the sides of the car are like brand new. A good body shop could repaint just the hood and trunk without having to paint the entire car so mismatch should not be an issue. I was going to do this, but instead would rather the next owner decide whether they want to spend the extra money. From 20 feet the paint on the hood and trunk are OK. Like I said, the paint on the sides of the car are like brand new. The chrome and the stainless steel also shine brilliantly. There is some minor fade to the chrome finish around the tail lights, but only noticeable up close. The vinyl top is also in very good shape. The factory chrome wheels are original to the car and still shine nice but have some minor rust around the perimeter of the rims….which are not noticeable in the pictures. There is no road rash on the wheels. The exterior is overall very nice and is obvious of the care it has received. The underbody is also in great shape, and according to the previous owner’s daughter, it stayed in the garage during the winter months, so there is very minimal surface scale underneath, unlike many of the cars from the Northeast. The condition confirms this. There is no rust under the trunk lid and very minimal surface scale under the doors….a brillo pad would likely remove this. There is a small shopping cart ding on the right rear quarter panel, which a paintless dent removal specialist could probably eliminate fairly cheap. There are some minor scratches here and there, but nothing noteworthy to mention. Again, the car is in very nice shape, and is ready for the local cruise in. All the body panels appear to be the original paint and there is no evidence of bondo anywhere.
Interior:
The interior is stunning, including the navy blue velvet tufted seats (part of the Park Avenue package) which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car! The seats are soft, much like a living room sofa. It was obviously NEVER smoked in. Cigarette lighters were never used. There are no rips, stains or holes. The navy blue carpets are also like new (and very soft/plush), and include aftermarket floor mats. The headliner does not sag. The dash is beautiful. Arm rests are like new….no wear, stains, etc. Even the stitching in the seats is like brand new. However the woodgrain on the top portion of the passenger interior door panel has some fading. The power equipment goodies all work, except for the clock, and the drivers side power seat can be temperamental but can usually be worked to the desired setting. For me, once I set the desired position, I leave it alone and never fool with it, so it’s been just fine for me. But if you’re the type to regularly adjust the seat then it will need some attention. Amazingly, the power antenna still works. Also, the cruise, power windows, locks, A/C, radio, etc. all work well.
Mechanical:
The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth. As mentioned earlier, the motor is the 5.0 engine which was both economical and reliable. The transmission shifts smooth and the fluid is still red. It passed the PA safety inspection with flying colors and is valid through July 2014. My mechanic also inspected the fluids, hoses, and belts and said they look fine. The A/C compressor was recently converted to a brand new AC Delco Compressor with R-134, which enables future servicing much more affordable. I have many of the service records throughout the car’s life. The tires are like new…have only two or maybe three thousand miles on them…they are the top-of–the-line Cooper LifeLiner Touring tires. All 4 match. The spare has never been out of the trunk. The car tracks straight, steering is tight, and brakes stop straight. The exhaust system appears to be newer, and even has the correct OEM factory style resonator, resulting in a very quiet purr. This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show!
Overall:
If you are looking for a great example of the last of the traditional full size Buick, this one’s for you. The car is gorgeous and gets lots of compliments. I have yet to see another Buick just like it. I’ve sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback. I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be
disappointed. As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid. I
