Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1971 Ford Mustang Coupe. It has a 302 V-8 engine, C4 transmission. The engine and transmission are the original that came with this Mustang. It currently sits on blocks and has not been driven since 1988. It is being sold "As Is". It can be bought and used for parts, or for restoration. However, the interior is not in very good shape. The seats are the original seats and the vinyl has torn, but the seats themselves are still in good shape. They would obviously need to be recovered. The back seat, bottom part is still in good shape but the back is torn also. The roof lining is in bad shape, it is hanging from the roof inside. The dash is cracked, so it is probably no good. However, the doors and windows are still in very good shape, the inside. The exterior is in good shape. The hood, the trunk lid, and the body in general is still in good shape. There are some rusted out spots on the fenders towards the bottom, but other than that, the body is in really good shape. The mirrors, doors, windows, and chrome trim are still functional. The headlights are original, and the tail lights. The fender side reflectors are still in great shape. The front bumper has rust spots on it, but can be salvaged probably. The back bumper needs work, but it might be salvageable also. The grill and chrome Pony are also original and still in great shape. Everything on this vehicle is still original except for the carburetor, radiator, muffler and exhaust pipe. It was my vehicle in California back in 1977 and met California emissions control regulations in 1977. I had wanted to restore it but I do not have the time or the money that it will take to restore it, so I've decided to sell it. It has a clear title. It was last titled in Virginia when I lived there. After moving to North Carolina I bought a new car and parked the Mustang. It has not been driven since 1988. I hate to get rid of it, but I see no need to keep it now. Maybe someone can use it for parts or try restoring it. It was a great running car back in its day, and probably could be again. When I quit driving it, it was used daily, driven 100+ miles to work and home each day. It has approximately 165,000 miles on the original engine. Since it has been up on blocks since 1988, I cannot tell you if the engine is any good, the transmission, or anything else as far drive train goes. It does have power steering, no A/C ( didn't need A/C in San Francisco ), no power windows, drum brakes, the original C4 tranny that was rebuilt in 1978. The gas cap is not original, it has a locking gas cap (someone stole the original gas cap when gas lines were blocks long in California on odd and even numbered days) Please ask questions before bidding. I will try to answer any questions you might have. For pickup only. Winning bidder please email for address directions.I accept Cash or Cashiers Check only. Payment is due within 5 days of auction end. Questions, please email me.The title is free and clear of any liens. I have the title and as I said earlier, it was last registered and titled in Virginia. Good luck and happy bidding. Please Note: Only the Mustang is for sale. The trees, other cars, lawn tractor, etc. is not for sale.
