Vehicle Detail
1954 Ford F-100 Swift Brothers Classic Trucks / Shop TruckV8 Y-Block3-Speed Transmission This is one of our personal trucks that we used for cruise-ins and various events. It’s not perfect or a show truck but that’s the way we wanted it, it's just a cool old shop truck you can enjoy. However it does get a lot of looks. I've owned and driven this one for about 4 years now. I hate to see her go but I guess we all change gears and move on. Listing Info. We tried to keep it pretty much original but with a old shop truck theme. The truck shows 54,000 some odd miles. When I purchased it I was told they were the original miles and the old truck did fit the part. It was all original and intact like you would find most original stuff. It does have slight mods to the suspension. I installed reversed eye mono springs front and rear with new lowered shocks. The engine is a 312 Y-Block with a 4-Barrel Intake, Holly Carb with the old style original Ram Horn Headers. I was told it had Police Interceptor Heads as well but not sure how to tell being I've never had them off. This truck has been converted to a 12 volt system as well. The engine runs out great and does not smoke it does have a slight valley pan oil leak but nothing bad at all. We've never pulled the engine so the engine and engine bay haven't had much detail work. Like I said this one's not perfect however it is a very solid old truck. Even tho you can't really see it we did detail the frame & inside of fenders in satin black so it all looks nice . The floor of cab and engine bay inner's along with the upper radiator support were sprayed with POR15 Black so they are a gloss finish. Moving on, our good friends at SRM Paintwerks in State Road, NC laid down a sweet old patina look on the outside and some old school hand striping on the hood, lower fender edges, cab and dash. Our logos were then added and distressed to give it again that old shop truck look. The truck has been painted for about 4 years so there is one or two chips and a few small cracks nothing that noticeable tho. On the inside we kept most of the old interior, which was in good condition. I added heat and sound deadening material; carpet some new glass, window rubbers and new weather stripping. I had the fuel tank steamed out and pressure checked installed a new sending unit, which worked for a while and has now stopped. If we have time I’ll check into fixing the sending unit. All the brakes were gone thru and work great. We also just installed a new Electronic Distributor that’s made to look like the old points style. So No more old points system! We also installed a new MSD Coil and Wires. “I will be keeping the old wooden box that’s shown in photos mounted in the bed” The custom built bicycle shown in some of the photos will not go with the truck either but may be purchased just make offer if interested.
