Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE 1969 Plymouth GTX 440-4 barrel, numbers matching SURVIVOR. This one is still wearing its original factory applied paint with the exception of the drivers side front fender and door. It also has its original factory applied saddle (tan) vinyl top! By numbers matching I mean the matching VIN is stamped on the radiator support, the engine, the transmission and the left side trunk lip. It also has the fender tag which has never been removed. What makes this GTX stand out among others is the fact that it is almost entirely unmolested original factory condition with many of its factory assembly line markings still present. (See photos) This GTX was ordered with the N96 code for Air Grabber hood, Goodyear Red Streak tires, Magnum 500 chrome road wheels and has a passengers side mirror which makes it one of 337 ever produced with this option according to Govier. The saddle top / bronze fire metallic color combination is extremely rare on a GTX. I have searched on-line and at numerous car shows for over 10 years and have found only two others with this color combination! Even then other options were different making this GTX possibly One of One or at minimum, One of very few! This is what attracted me to this GTX, not another black, blue, or red, run of the mill muscle car. Other reasons that this GTX is special is because it comes with the original broadcast sheet, original window sticker, original owners manual, the original warranty booklet with original owners name written in it and maintenance receipts dating back over 20 years! The GTX was ordered and shipped to Bill Swad Chrysler & Plymouth in Columbus, Ohio on September 16, 1969. The original owner, John D. White, an older gentlemen, used the GTX as his summer transportation, even putting chrome door guards and front mud flaps on it to protect his pride and joy. If you're looking for a muscle car that hasn't been dinked with, still wearing its original paint, this is that car! All floor pans and frame rails are solid with no repairs needed or ever done. The GTX currently has Hooker Competition Headers and exhaust however the original manifolds come with it. Some upgrades have been made to include electronic ignition. Recent new parts include, 4 new tires $700.00, front suspension professional rebuilt by Mike Riehl's Dodge in Roseville, MI (Including new front shocks, painting parts to resemble original colors and painted inspection marks $2,100.00. New original style battery from Mancini Racing $264.00. The original thumbwheel AM radio works great but is disconnected. There is a hidden Pioneer CD player with MP3 jack in the glove box. I purchased different kick panels and glove box so that nothing original to the car was cut. All original parts that I have will come with the GTX. You are welcome to arrange an inspection and test drive. Sorry I will not close the auction for anyone offering the reserve price. Sorry I am not interested in trades. This GTX was registered in Galen Govier's Registry December 26, 2006. At that time, it was number 92 of 119 in VIN sequence of all 1969 440-4bbl PLYMOUTH GTX 2 Door Hardtop's accounted for at the Lynch Road Plant (Detroit, MI) and built to spec's for the U.S.A. The registration certificate will come with the GTX. I do hold the right to close the auction according to eBay rules as this car is for sale locally. On Sep-08-13 at 19:31:10 PDT, seller added the following information: To clarify, this was a relist and I failed to remove "Sorry I will not close the auction for anyone offering the reserve price" THERE IS NO RESERVE!
