Im selling this for a friend who has lost his storage space and must sell asap, price is very very reaosonable for a complete running survivor car like this. For sale is a clean all original low mileage unmolested survivor 1959 Fairlane 500 Galaxy 4 door hardtop. Starts and drives. The car has been off the road since the mid 70's. Initially under a carport it has been in an open storage yard for at least the last 10 years. Nearly 100% complete, the only things missing that I see is the turn signal stalk, plastic insert for the hood medallion, the cigarette lighter and the rubber gas peddle, the rest of the car is complete with all the interior and exterioir trim. The car still has its original 1959 Firestone wide white wall G70 15 tires so I believe the mileage is correct because you haven't been able to buy these tires since the 60's. You will of course have to do what is needed to get a car that been sitting for 35 years back on the road. the good: changed the oil and filter, primed the oil pump, put gas in it and it started up first try, no smoke no leaks no noises. Solid floors and frame. everything works, I tested the gauges, fan motor etc and they work OK, the windows go up and down ok, the car starts at the touch of the key, the exhaust system is in very good condition and not rusted out. Filled the transmission with fresh fluid and it works!. Reverse and drive work OK the transmission, has no leaks. I let it idle long enough to heat up and in our 95 -100 degree weather it never got past 180. Radiator has no leaks, rear axle has no leaks. Ive driven it around the block a few times so there should be no problem loading it onto a transport. came with a new carb which I installed. Im running the car from a 1 gallon gas tank in the engine bay as the fuel tank pickup is clogged. Interior and exterior laights all work. Brakes all work OK, no leaks. The headliner is in very good condition no rips or tears. windshield is OK, rear window is OK. all the chrome is in very good condition. the bad: paint is faded from sitting in the sun for 35 years. The front carpets were removed as they had turned to dust. the seats have covers as the original seat material had dried out. has an aftermarket turn signal set up that works and an aftermarket horn button. I assume the original turn signal cam broke like they all do and was bypassed. the rear windows are cracked but the car comes with 2 brand new replacements. the passenger side front window is cracked. 3 door panels were removed in order to blow out the dust and to oil the locks and window regulators and are stored in the trunk. the hood lock cable is frozen so Ive removed the stricker , the nuetral saftey switch is hooked up but not attached. minor bubbeling at the front door lower corners where they all get rust. you will need to install a new fuel tank fuel pick up / sending unit and flush the tank and lines . you will need new tires if you want to drive the car on the streets, the interior is servicable as is but should be replaced to look really good. Being sold as a project car and is priced accordingly.
