Vehicle Detail

Detailed Description Condition:This Mustang LX is a 1989 Notchback Convertible. This car has 150,XXX miles on the odometer, and only 36,000 miles on the 5.0 H.O. V-8 Motor that was replaced in this car about three years ago. This car is 24 years old, and has cosmetic issues that are typical to a 24 year old car. To start off, the car has some areas that the paint is coming off, and/or areas of paint that have come off the vehicle. The black plastic trim is showing some of the yellow underneath, and the hood has a rough patch of paint as well. The trunk has some areas that the paint has chipped off. There is a small spot on the rear driver side fender that has a spot of rust, and the car has small dents on it, but nothing too noticeable. The paint has areas that are dull from sitting in the sun. This car will be eligible for the antique registration as of next year, but check your local municipal office to be sure. The convertible boot is missing, and was missing since I bought the car. When closing the convertible top, sometimes you have to pull the top down with your arm to be able to latch the top properly. The latching hooks are starting to show signs of wear. This car has original 15" Aluminum turbine wheels, with a set of 4 new tires as of last fall. (Less than 4,000 miles on them). This car has a Bassanni Catback exhaust with polished tips. This exhaust was almost $700 not including labor. The sound that comes out of the exhaust is just wonderful as the tachometer swings past three grand, and it sounds even better with the top down. The sound from the exhaust has gotten me compliments, and it turns heads. The polished exhaust tips look really good on the rear of the car, and give it a sinister look. The interior of this car has its ups and downs. The carpet has some stains from years of wear & tear and use. I did shampoo the rugs, and seats, so they are very clean and freshly vacuumed. I keep the interior of my cars very clean, and try to shampoo the carpets once a year. I shampooed and vacuum the rugs this spring in late May, and again last week. On the driver's side seat, there is a small tear about 1.5 inches in length. Behind the passenger seat there is some rust on the bolts where the seat bolts to the floor. These bolts might need to be replaced soon. The ashtray on this car is broken/missing! I don't smoke, so it did not bother me! The ashtrays on these Fox body Mustangs are always breaking! They are notorious for breaking! This car has a new CD player in it with AM/FM radio. The CD player and radio work great! The heater/air conditioner motor is not working, ($40 dollars on here) but the car has heat and air conditioning, it just needs a motor to blow the hot or cold air. I only run this car in the summer, and I never used the heat, or A.C. so the A.C. may or may not need work, I am not sure. I have not had it recharged. The middle knob that adjusts the temperature of the air coming out of the heater is broken, but could be glued in. This is a cheap fix as well, I just have not had the time to get around to it. I removed the sun visors from the front, and the windshield mounted rear view mirror as well. Both of these blocked my vision while driving, so I had them removed. The vent on the hood that is plastic has a crack in it. The top on this car needs replacing, as there is one small leak in the rear that is slowly getting worse. ($140 on here, or American Muscle). For some reason the cruise control is not working, although I have not checked the fuses up front. Also, the gas gauge needle is stuck on Full. For some reason, it reads only full, and has done this for the last two months or so. All other gauges, (RPM, Temperature, Voltage, Temperature) work. The fuel tank is not fully level, and needs adjustment. When driving with the gas tank at below half tank, and you take a hard right hand turn, the motor will starve for fuel momentarily due to the gas tank not being level. I usually fill up pretty often to avoid this problem, although I imagine that to fix it would require adjusting the tank straps. Lastly, some of the strips on the trunk have been removed by the previous owner, and the vehicle has been rebadged as a 5.8 L by the previous owner. It is in all reality a 5.0 V-8. The rear Ford emblem, and LX emblem are gone. Features: This car has a few added features. For starters it has the Cat Back Bassanni Aftermarket exhaust with polished exhaust tips. It also has the anti-theft locking Lug Nut, and Lug Nut Socket Tool that go with it as well. ( This is the socket that fits the special Lug Nut so your wheels don't get stolen) This car has a new fuel pump, and new alternator as of last fall, and oil was changed last fall before it went into storage over the winter. This car has a four speed automatic that is geared rather high. (Nearly 55 m.p.h. in first gear) Because of this, the car actually gets somewhat decent gas mileage for a 5.0 L V-8. My last fill up I calculated my mpg to be around 22 mpg. This is combination highway driving, and city driving. This car also has a single disc CD player that works great! This car features one hell of an exhaust sound, and an iconic 5.0 Liter H.O. V-8 under the hood. History: I am not the original owner of this car. The person who owned this car before me loved this car, and had it since the late 90's. Has been a Maine car, but stored in winters. The reason I am selling is because I have three cars, and I barely use this car because it is always RAINING here in Maine. I love to drive it with the top down, and feel the magic of the total driving experience, the sights, sounds, breeze!.......But Alas...it sits here parked. This car would probably be great in the southern part of Maine, where it rains and snows less and there are more sunny days to ride in the convertible. I drove this car every day through early May, most of June, and it has been parked for most of July because of the rain! This car is currently inspected and registered in the state of Maine. I am selling because I have another project, and don't have the time to work on another project. Shipping and Payment: Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping. Buyer is responsible for all associated costs with shipping, title, registration, and insurance. Car is located in New Gloucester Maine. $500 is due 48 hours after closing of the auction via paypal. The buyer has 7 days to pay the remaining balance via paypal. Vehicle does not have a title, because in Maine the cut off is 1995. Vehicle is sold as is. I am not a mechanic, so I may not be able to answer technical questions. Please come see the car if you are in the area. Any questions, please feel free to email!~ Thank you! Fasha
