Vehicle Detail

My daily driver for nearly 18 years. I drive it routinely all over the country for my job. Great car for long trips.PlusesWell maintained. (all repair records available if desired)Not burning oil, running rough, etc.New front OEM springs a couple months ago (mistake – should have replaced all as a set, so front sits to high)New tires, ball joints, air-conditioning compressor about a year agoNew brake pads/calipers/disks in last 3 year.New aluminum radiator about 3 years ago.Front seats reupholstered, new leather, after market seat heater about 3 years ago.Rear seats original as new.Carpet and other interior peaces complete original and in good shape.XM radioViper alarm system with remote start Minuses.Every 3,000 miles its oil has been changed and it hasn’t been losing to any noticeable degree, but I now have 2 leaks where the sensors enter the left side of the oil pan which aren’t bad, but need to be fixed. Also a slight leak near the rear main bearing.Water pump dribblesIt’s a body on full frame car, and the bushings need replacement. And the biggy – rust.Hood rusted through around the eyebrows like every Caprice of its era I’ve seen.Bad rust through at base of A and B pillars. (no shaking and rattling on the highway etc – but it needs to be cut out and replaced).Rust through on front wheel wells.Lots of the brackets and such underneath rusted. Frame good, no rust through on main body panels or floor panels that I and mechanics see. But for a body shop to fix it all and repaint it is over $10,000 worth, and its getting old enough that getting parts for repairs can take a week or two, and as I said I drive a lot for my job and worry about being stuck someplace when I need to be in another state. So it’s a great mechanically sound project car for someone who can do the body work, or a good parts car for someone with a good body with worn out mechanicals..
