Vehicle Detail
1966 HONDA CB450 BLACK BOMBER. all original with 10,730 miles. "you're only original once." most of the parts on this bike came off the shelf of an old honda shop, now out of business. it was almost miraculous for me to find these parts. all original, all original paint, and near perfect pieces. the gas tank is NOS with original paint, no rust inside. the fenders are both NOS original paint, the seat was also NOS on the shelf and now has had the original foam replaced to perfection. the original seat cover is great although it does have a small shallow scrape on the right side. also NOS super nice chrome handlebars, i found this bike many years ago, it was mostly intact and did run, however it had chopper handlebars, a different gas tank and no seat, also the fenders were chopped. the motor is the original 4 speed, with vin numbers to verify. frame also has original 66' numbers as well. the side covers are original to the bike, but have been professionally painted and clear coated. the bike is strong, runs well, shifts fine. it has a newer battery, newer tires, new chain, sprocket, valves adjusted, carbs rebuilt, front end rebuilt, bearings repacked. the wheels are shiny and the chrome looks good, the pipes are scuffed here and there, but look quite decent. this is a rider, that looks like a trailer queen show bike, or vice versa ? it is hard for me to give this bike up, it is near and dear to me. if i were bill gates or jay leno i would never let it leave my collection, i would most likely wish to be buried with it. bike has a clear title in my name. runs well, has kick start or electric, both will start the bike. everything works as it should on this. speedo and tach, lights, brakes etc... i will show as many pics as possible and will add video of the bike running. recently noticed the bike will sometime backfire on occasion, it will start out a bit rough, mostly when the engine is cold, seems to run better as it warms up. i rarely ride this bike, and i attribute any poor running to lack of use. i am sure the carbs could use some tweaking, and or cleaning. the bomber will get you thumbs up wherever you go. it is honestly one of the best looking bikes i have had or seen. tires are IRC grand high speed.
