If you are looking for the best pre-owned Ford Focus you can find, your search is over. This stunningly magnificent one-owner example has been driven by a mature non-smoking car collector since new; always garaged and has less than 21,000 original miles. It still smells like new! It started life as a U.S.-spec ZX3, finished in sparkling Twilight Blue Metallic with Dark Charcoal interior. Upon purchase, it was aesthetically revised to more closely resemble Ford designer Claude Lobo’s original drawings by fitting the Euro-spec rear bumper and lighting, liftgate spoiler and quad-beam headlamps. These four-lamp headlight clusters also produce a much more intense and broad-focused light pattern than the rather feeble original units. The front grille is the Euro-spec diamond mesh version. The U.S.–spec front side marker/reflector units have been sprayed body-color and clear-coated, rendering them invisible. The sunvisors have been replaced by German-market visors lacking the unsightly airbag warning labels. This upgrade conversion was carried out in a most professional manner, including changing out the rear wiring harness and rear fender liners as well as the rear bumper. Behind the svelte rear bumper cover is the correct European impact bar and Styrofoam insert. The tailpipe was shortened accordingly and fitted with a custom finisher machined from stainless steel billet. A spare one is included, along with the original blueprints. The outside rear-view mirrors are Euro-spec folding convex units with body-color shells and high-polish piano-black mounting bases. The door-post trim and rear quarter window edges have also been changed to Euro-spec high-polish piano-black. Other added extras include front map lights, a tilt and telescoping steering column, underhood insulation pad and a paper/charcoal cabin filter. The car rides on 17”x7” European Ford Focus OEM wheels and 215/45-17 Yokohama Avid H4S high-performance all-season tires. These tires are six years old and have 6,481 miles on them. The wheels are pristine with no curb rash or tire-mounting scratches. The wheel center-caps are all installed Porsche-style, with the bottom of the Ford oval facing the valve stem. There are NO aftermarket parts on this car; all modifications mentioned above incorporate Genuine Ford Motor Company parts exclusively. The sale includes the complete Ford three-volume Factory Service Manual, a Covercraft WeatherShield car cover, the original sunvisors, the original (unpainted) front side marker/reflector units, miscellaneous extra parts, three keys, and an exact-matching spare driver and two spare passenger NLA (no-longer-available) Ford-factory Dark Charcoal floormats. The car retains both its originally-fitted period-correct California license plates, each secured with polished stainless steel screws. The car has recently been fitted with a new fluid-damped right-side engine mount, a pair of new liftgate struts, new front sway bar links, a new air filter element and has a two-year-old battery. All the aforementioned parts are of course, Genuine Ford. If the need arises, any of the European-spec Ford parts can be obtained online from either European-Parts.net in Germany or Batinc.net in Florida. Maintenance notes: The car is now ten years old and is due to have the timing belt replaced and all fluids changed. There is slight weeping (not dripping) at the high-pressure output hose fitting on the power steering pump (it has been that way for five years!) otherwise the car is in very good health, including the A/C which is capable of quickly turning the interior into a mobile igloo. The car has been filled with Mobile 1 5W-20 since the first oil change. This car is ready to drive and enjoy; it passed its California Smog Inspection on July 16, 2013; and California registration is paid through February 16, 2014.
