Vehicle Detail
Hello, I’m selling my 1998 Jeep Wrangler 4x4. This is a great little jeep that hasn’t been off road much. It has the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed standard transmission. I am the second owner of this vehicle and have maintained it very well, as did the previous owner. This jeep came from Dallas, Texas metro area and is rust free. The jeep is in excellent mechanical condition with no problems, trouble codes, check engine lights, doesn’t smoke, use oil, or leak. It has 137 k miles but is a daily driver so the mileage may change some. Some of the things I’ve replaced, repaired, and installed are….New tires (less than 6,000 miles), new water pump, new belts and hoses, new plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. New shocks (rough country), new steering stabilizer (Rancho), new track bar and bushings, new magnaflow muffler, new banks torque tube header, replaced stock radio with pioneer stereo with cd player, fuel tank door, front tow hooks, receiver hitch, K&N air filter, new door skins, New 7” wide fender flares, mirror relocate kit, new rugged ridge seat covers with all kinds of storage pockets and drink holders, and new rear tire cover. The tires are 31” instead of stock 29” but I replaced the speedometer gear with the correct one for these size tires so the speedo is accurate. It comes with rugged ridge seat covers with pockets everywhere. These are just the things I can remember. The A/C and heat work as they should. Transmission shifts smoothly. Four wheel drive works as it should. The paint is good about 7 or 8 out of 10 with normal scratches and dings for a vehicle this age. The only body damages are some small dents on the cowl and hood that are hard to notice but they are there and shown in photo’s. The top is in good shape with no rips or tears or loose stitching, but the rear windows and back window have minor scratches like most jeeps this old. There is a small rub mark slight hole on one of the new door skins because I put a mirror relocate kit on so you can run with the doors off and when you open the doors the mirror on the passenger door rubs the door skin (shown if photos). The only other minor issue with the jeep is that the front differential pinion seal has started to show signs that it might need replacement at some point in the future. It’s not really leaking but the differential around it is wet. Bought new seal but haven’t had to replace it because it isn’t losing any fluid. I have never taken this jeep on any off road trails but have used the four wheel drive in the snow, and to pull out a stuck atv, and to pull a tree that had fallen out of a driveway. I would not be afraid to drive this jeep cross country. It is a 4 cylinder that has plenty of power and handles highway speeds well; however; these jeep 4 cylinders don’t do well on long, steep inclines, at highway speeds. I average around 18 mpg driving a mix of city and highway driving. This jeep is ready for a new owner. The only reason I’m selling it is that it’s just not practical for the larger family I have now. I need more room for the kids. I believe I’ve listed all the important information but please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. Check out my feedback (100% positive) so buy it with confidence. Thanks for looking and good luck with your winning bid.
