Vehicle Detail
After a sale of this car on eBay and waiting for the buyer who never followed up with his successful bid, we have decided to again put the car on the market. Buyer's with 0% feedback are not allowed to bid without contacting the seller first. A true collector's dream..... This Southern California car has never left the area. A true original, this car is being sold by its second owner. It has been garaged and off the streets since 1992. Matching set of black California plates are still on it. All numbers match. It is the perfect starting point for a total restoration. The engine was just started up and runs, yet it still has its patina from years of storage. 81,000 total miles. Engine has not been touched. This car has all the options offered in its original sale. Rally Pac, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Four Speed Manual Transmission, 289 V8 Engine, Convertible Top. Original generator still in place. Four original wheel covers included. Only non original item is a cassette stereo installed but the dash was not cut. This car was purchased in 1988 from the original owner in Pacific Palisades, California. It was used to drive the family a quarter mile to the beach and back in the summers. It was then driven around the streets of Los Angeles by the second, current owner, until it was garaged in 1992 and is now being offered for sale for just its third time. An incredible opportunity to buy coming into it's 50th anniversary next year. Many people have inquired about rust. There is minimal rust on the chrome pieces ( door handles, bumpers.) This can be removed with some time spent with a wire brush. It is not pervasive. As well, there is minimal rust on the paint. The carpet was pulled and the floor boards are clean of rust. A look underneath the car also finds no rust. It was inspected by mechanics and body/paint professionals and they all stated it was essentially free of rust. As a clarification, the car was stored outside for 2 of its 49 years so the paint is very faded. There were questions by many regarding its vin number. It is - 5F08D109937
