Vehicle Detail
This is 1 of 1523 1968 Sport Satellite V8 Convertibles produced. It is in the very desirable color combo of red with white interior and top. It also had white accent stripes according to the original window sticker but I don’t see them on car and it looks like the original paint still on it. I have the original owners packet with owners manual . I have a clear title that matches dash vin and window sticker. It was hit on the left rear and left for dead in a junk yard in Georgia along with a ’68 GTX 440-4 spd rag top in the same color combo. I ended up with both cars. I restored the GTX and have decided to sell this one and spend my time on other things for a while. I cut off the damaged qtr so everyone could see what it looked like underneath. The frame rail will need to be replaced on that side as well as a complete new trunk floor and qtr repair on both sides. The floors are pretty good but it does need a frt drivers side pan and a few patches here and there but overall a pretty good floor. The pass door is good but the drivers door is rusted out at bottom. I think I have a spare door that Ill throw in. The fenders (inner and outer) and original “Sport” hood (not just a flat satellite hood-check out the cool “318” hood ornament), firewall, front frame rails, ect are solid and I am even including a decent Roadrunner hood if someone wanted to build a clone. Also, it still has ALL ITS ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN! Yes, original engine, trans, driveshaft and heavy duty 8-3/4” rear end. It looks to have never been out of the car. IT DOES NOT RUN! The odometer has 22,000 miles but Im sure that’s 122,000. It still has its original carb, exhaust mans and radiator too! The dash is all original with all the trim, radio, ect. The only thing missing is the wood grain radio bezel, door panels and the dimmer switch. I needed them for the “X”. I put in a correct set of ’68 buckets with headrests. The back seat is out of a ’68 Coronet. The console is all complete with all the chrome trim and correct ’68 only top plates. It has its complete original set of wheels and super rare faux mag wheel hubcaps. It is a power steering, power drum brake car. I have all of the conv top windshield surround chrome trim and the top of door chrome but I don’t have the well liner chrome trim. It was donated to my “X”. The only glass I have is the windshield (its perfect) and one door glass. The qtr glass is unique to convertibles and there are 2 sets on ebay right now but they aint cheap. I have the other taillight assy and a 3rd spare that are included. I don’t have any bumpers or brackets but both are available from AMD and new beats rechromed any day. I think all the wiring harnesses are in place and intact except for the forward lamp harness. I have the motor harness. It is just not on car. I may have a spare forward lamp harness for quad headlamps. If car meets reserve Ill include it. The top frame will need some of the lighter gauge sheet metal repaired along the front header and the rest of it just needs to be acid dipped or sand blasted and it will be fine. The grill is repairable but you can probably find a better one if your patient. I can do all the sheet metal repair in my shop for anyone that’s interested in having me do it. I have been doing rust repair on my own cars for years and am currently replacing full floors, trunk, qtrs. and entire front end inc frame rail repair on a customers AAR Cuda. My repairs are professional and very hard to detect the work was ever done. I don’t provide lump sum quotes so don’t ask for one. This type of work is time consuming and detailed if its done right and very hard to estimate hrs when u don’t know whats “underneath” till u get it cut out. I work for $35 hr billed weekly and honestly (with pix) and I don’t ask for “deposits” up front. Anyone looking to get into a Mopar drop top with a good color combo without breaking the bank this is the car. Dont miss out! I have done my best to describe this car but there is no accounting for individual taste. As usual winning bid is NOT an invitation to inspect but a legally binding contract to purchase. This car is available for inspection anytime prior to auction ending. I urge any interested parties to either inspect car themselves or send someone to act as their agent. YOU WIN THE AUCTION I EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE CAR. This car is sold without warranty. 20% non-refundable down pymt due 3 days after auction end.
