Vehicle Detail

Hello Cadillac collectors, fans of BIG FINS and BIG CARS, I am selling a recent find... a RARE 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood model 75 Formal Sedan / Limousine. Why is this one special ? An Original California Car with just 42,850 miles. It is CLEAN & RUST FREE with nice paint, nice chrome & a nice interior! THAT IS SPECIAL! You could not ask for more if you love these big cars with big fins. It was part of a collection of vintage Cadillac limousines, and THIS ONE was the BEST of the collection! There was a 1959, a 1962, a 1964 , etc; this one is the best, cleanest of the collection. I bought this car where is sits in Van Nuys California (Los Angeles) When I saw it I knew it was a great car, you can see how clean and well kept it is. It has now been sitting for a period but it should start right up with some fresh gas and a charge on the battery. I was just about to have it shipped back to NYC but decided to sell it from California as I really have enough toys for the moment and although I love the 1959, 1960 & 1961 Cadillacs and I have had a number of them through the past 30 years, I decided to give it a go on ebay before shipping it back. In the superb condtion it is in, there was no hesitation in buying it and certainly expect that I am not alone and you also love this car. I know the Europeans and particularly the Scandanavians love the big fin Cadillacs. I am sure that whoever buys it will be happy and love it! You can enjoy it with family & friends or for business such as specialty limo service for Rock Stars or business clients in a cool company! Only the Fleetwood "75" has the special high formal roof with the door tops that blend into the roof, it is loaded with all of the best appointments and options and was incredibly expensive at about $9500-$9800 in 1959 & 1960. It is now over 54 years later and I am pricing for about the same price as it cost half a century ago!!! Thank you and happy bidding! I do hope and expect that it will be sold quickly with the BUY IT NOW , my price is a bargain for a car in this beautiful condition. If you like it just for fun with family & friends, or perhaps you can use it for business or promotion... then "GO FOR IT", don't hesitate or someone else will do the buy it now! I have always been fair through the 15 years on ebay and almost every car that I have parted with has sold quickly with the buy it now, because: A) I have always carefully chosen exceptional cars and B) they are worth quite a bit more money than my price and are a "good buy"! This rare low production Cadillac Fleetwood "75" would likely be appraised at over $20,000! I have 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK from 15 YEARS ON EBAY!!! So, you can bid with confidence or do the BUY IT NOW option if you are sure that you want the 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood 9 passenger formal sedan/ Limousine. (I believe that it is considered a 9 passenger) ALL of my previous buyers have loved the cars that I have parted with through the years, both from my collection and others that I had found -they are ALWAYS SOMETHING RARE or INTERESTING!The 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Formal Sedan/Limousine had an original cost of about $9800 in 1960, it was the most expensive and well appointed Cadillac in it's day, they can bring upwards of $25,000- $35,000+ today at the right auction in Superb condition (researched auction records); It is a very "Cool" car which is more desirable than any Cadillac which followed and only second to the 1959 in fin size and desirability but basically the same body & interior, basically the same overall car as the 1959 Cadillac. This car is priced VERY LOW, and the Reserve is ofcourse lower than the BUY IT NOW price, and I have a perfect "100% SOLD" RECORD, EVERY SINGLE CAR that I have ever parted with over the years has sold on Ebay and my buyers have always been happy, so I am sure that a rare big finned Fleetwood formal sedan Limo like this one will sell pretty quickly. I'd always rather take a bit less and have it sold quickly, that is why they always sell! PLEASE only bid if you have all of the funds ready and can pick the car up quickly, It is for Sale AS-IS WHERE-IS and clear title will provided in your name as soon as possible after the sale. I believe that my "buy it now" price is far below what others would ask for a classic milestone car like this one! I look at ebay regularly, I would not be surprised to see another seller ask about $20,000-$25,000 for this car being such a solid Cailfornia Car with super LOW MILEAGE, but I have priced it low, to be a good buy, so that it is sold this week . It need to be picked up immediately from the storage yard in Van Nuys California (within a few days of the sale ending, it is presently costing me $20 a day storage so I have no time to spare!) IF you are a European or East Coast buyer, I can help you to organize/arrange the delivery to NEW JERSEY PORT or your location. This 1960 Cadillac is extremely cool and yet very elegant, John F. Kennedy rode in one after his 1960 Election win. This beautiful car will always be desireable and a head turner Thank you! 1959–1960[edit] Seventh generation Model years 1959–1960 Assembly Detroit, Michigan, USA[2][3] Body style 4-door sedan[2][3] 4-door limousine[2][3] Layout FR layout[2][3] Platform D-body Engine 390 cu in (6.4 L) OHV V8[2][3] Transmission 4-speed Hydramatic automatic[2][3] Wheelbase 149.8 in (3,805 mm)[2][3] Length 244.8 in (6,218 mm)[2][3] Width 1959: 80.2 in (2,037 mm)[2] 1960: 79.9 in (2,029 mm)[2] Height 59.3 in (1,506 mm)[2] Curb weight 5,700–5,800 lb (2,600–2,600 kg) Designer(s) Bill Mitchell No single automotive design better characterizes the industry's late 1950s flamboyance than the 1959 Cadillac, which incorporated totally new styling.[2][3] Large tailfin, twin bullet taillamps, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck-lid beauty panels personified these cars.[2][3] The long-wheelbase Series 75 technically became the Series 6700, in keeping with Cadillac's new series scheme, but in practice was still referred to as the "Series 75."[2][3] Production models again were a nine-passenger sedan and Imperial limousine with auxiliary jump seats.[2][3] Fleetwood lettering appeared on the rear deck lid trim strip.[2][3] Single side trim moldings extended fromthe front wheel housing to the rear of the car.[2][3] Standard equipment included power brakes; power steering; Hydramatic automatic transmission; dual back-up lamps; windshield washers and two-speed wipers; wheel discs; dual outside rearview mirror; vanity mirror; oil filter and power vent windows.[2][3] Power steering and shock absorbers were improved this year.[2][3] Engine displacement on the Cadillac OHV V8 was increased to 390 cu in (6.4 L).[2][3] The 1960 Cadillacs exhibited smoother styling, more subtle rendition of the styling theme introduced one year earlier.[2][3] General changes included a full-width grille; the elimination of pointed front bumper guards; increased restraint in the application of chrome trim; lower tailfins with oval shaped nacelles which encased stacked taillights and back up lamps and front fender mounted directional indicator lamps.[2][3] The long wheelbase sedan and limousine had auxiliary jump seats, high-headroom formal six-window styling, broad ribbed edge beauty panels and trim generally similar to Series 6200 Cadillacs in other respects.[2][3] The limousine passenger compartment was trimmed in either bradford cloth or Bedford cloth, both in combinations with wool.[2][3] Florentine leather upholstery was used in the chauffeur's compartment.[2][3] Standard equipment was essentially the same as the previous year.[2][3]On Jul-02-13 at 17:44:02 PDT, seller added the following information: IMPORTANT UPDATE : Hello Bidders, I always try to be fair & square when it comes to the old cars, as fellow collector I know we want to know as much as possible about these cars. In this unusual case the Cadillac is in California and I am in Belle Harbor, NY I was able to have someone who lives near Van Nuys, Los Angeles go to take a quick look today (Tuesday) at the car in person for me: (I had to call as the new owner to get special permission from the yard for him to get escorted in for a 3 minute look ) While it is apparently a fine car as you and I can see, the updates as far as flaws which I was NOT previously aware of are as follows: He said Chrome is fine and as good as we would expect. The body has a small golf ball sized hole at the bottom of each front fender in front of the doors The paint while fine overall is likely original and thus thin on the hood. But apprently quite presentable overall. The engine compartment needs cleaning, painting & general detailing Interior is fine, nice original door panels, dash pad is fine, lower dash metal needs compounding & polish, Nice center divider/seat back, nice orig. jump seats and nicely reupholstered seats. That is all we know from his very brief visit with the 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood today. I eagerly bought it a couple of weeks ago based on the photos with no further information except the mileage and that we know that it came from a Cadillac Limo Collection and this one was the best one! I just figured that since it was taking so long to find a good deal on the transport, I decided that if it can sell from California that I have enough toys now and I will save the cross country shipping cost- BUT I am pricing it right at my cost and if I make something for my troubles great, if not, so it goes! I am now paying $20 a day for the storage so pickup by new owner needs to be very prompt. In consideration of the updates, While Yes, it beautiful and solid and having little or a normal amount of rust, I now know that it is NOT COMPLETELY RUST FREE, ALMOST , and IT MAY BE NO BIG DEAL or STILL JUST A QUICK FIX SPOT for us EASTERNERS, BUT IT'S NOT COMPLETELY RUST FREE and I always want a satisfied buyer. I did not get a fine reputation with 100% Positive feedback over 15 years by accident, it was being fair and doing things right! SO....I will now lower my reserve & Buy It Now to make it an even better deal and 100% SOLD! Thank you again , Kurt On Jul-02-13 at 18:11:04 PDT, seller added the following information: The BUY IT NOW is now lowered to the exact price of $9500 that's the same price that the original owner paid for this Cadillac in 1960! You are buying this 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood for the same price as was paid 54 years ago, and for such a nice, solid car, it is a fine deal. It is as if the owner put it away for 54 years and now says "TAKE IT FOR WHAT I PAID!" Also, you probably know that these Fleetwoods, particularly in the "75" series ( Limousine/9 Passenger sedan) were hand built, low production, custom bodied, top quality cars as one would expect from Cadillac back in those days. They were like an American equivelant to Rolls Royce, well made for weathy clientelle. Well...that's all folks! The next contact will be with the new owner. Thank you all for your interest and bids! Enjoy these beautiful old cars, they are works of sculpture , works of art, while today's cars, on the other hand...are SO boring to look at but make great compost! On Jul-02-13 at 18:25:11 PDT, seller added the following information: JUST FOUND SOME INTERESTING INFO TO SHARE WITH YOU!!! The car is 1 of 718 made. The big Fleetwood Seventy-Five nine-passenger sedans and limousines for 1959 and 1960 listed at $9533 and $9748. They rode a stretched 3805mm wheelbase, stood 50mm lower than a Rolls-Royce, but did not look as cumbersome even though overall length measured a whopping 6218mm. The Fleetwoods featured separate air conditioning and heating for the front and rear areas, auxiliary seats in the rear, and power door locks. The chauffeur's compartment was finished in gray or fawn leather to match the rear compartment, or could be ordered in basic black. The rear passenger area exuded luxury with sedate gray or fawn Bedford cords and wool broadcloths. The doors had lights along the bottom to light up the ground when opened. The limousine window treatment was deliberately more conservative than other models in the Cadillac lineup, with squarer lines and a smaller back window for privacy. The long wheelbase sedan and limousine had auxiliary jump seats, high-headroom formal six-window styling, broad ribbed roof edge beauty panels and trim generally similar to 6200 Cadillacs in other regards. The limousine passenger compartment was trimmed in either Bradford cloth or Bedford cloth, both in combinations with wool. Florentine leather upholstery was used in the chauffeur's compartment. I. D.
