The 2003 Ford Explorer is a very widely used, universal vehicle that can withstand anything you think you can do to it. This loaded Eddie Bauer is the top notch, fully loaded edition. With this vehicle you can do everything you need to in style with many accessories and luxury. You can go anywhere you need to because this vehicle is All Wheel Drive, which is also great for towing. With seating for 7 you can easily have more passengers or kids. This edition is equipped with a rear monitor designed for DVD or aux, to keep the rear passengers content. INTERIOR: Fortunately this vehicles interior is very nice. Everything seemed to work just fine as it should. The upgraded stereo really does sound amazing. The factory subwoofer really does make the difference. All of the accessories are conveniently placed. All of the leather is in great shape, barely even worn. Rear monitor (TV screen) works properly. EXTERIOR: The body is actually great. No major repairs needed. There are no signs of previous body work/paint. You are seeing this vehicle in its original, raw form. There is a small ding on the passenger side rear door. I could barely notice it. There is some minor damage on the rear driver side corner, as in small scuffs, minor dings. The driver side taillight is cracked at the bottom. This is a cheap replacement for about $150. The tires look good and I have not seen any rust. There is a small crack on the front bumper and a small imperfection on the front of the hood. MOTOR/HANDLING: The SUV does start and drive. It also idles as it should. Driving the vehicle is not scary. The only thing wrong with this Explorer is there is a small knocking sound coming from the motor. I am NOT a mechanic, so I do not know what it is. The sound does not affect the way it drive’s, I noticed there is not a lot of power when accelerating. Most likely causing the check engine light to be on. Other than that there are no other funny sounds or smells coming from anywhere. This engine needs work, maybe even replaced. To me this vehicle does not feel 100% reliable and I would not go on a very long drive. I would try to keep it under an hour if driving, or tow the vehicle for any distance.. The suspension is great and this vehicle feels safe. Everything else feels comfortable. This really is a very nice small SUV. With just few problems this could be in top shape again. This could be something you fix yourself. Just remember you’re not going to pay retail value.
