2000 Volkswagen Passat GLS Wagon for sale.
This car has had 1 owner from new according to Autocheck. It is in very good mechanical condition. I have driven this car all over town and taken it on 2 round trips from Atlanta GA to Athens GA. The 1.8 liter turbo engine starts first time, idles smoothly and had good acceleration. Transmission shifts smoothly both in auto and manumatic mode. Suspension is good and I did not notice any strange noises or rattle. Brakes perform well with no shakes or shudders when stopping. I did not inspect the brake pads/rotors for wear though.
The exterior of this vehicle is relatively clean as can be seen from the photographs. The front bumper on the passenger side has some damage. The passenger side rear doors have 2 scratches. The driver’s side has a few minor scratches. The interior is also above average. The seats and carpets are clean with no tears or burns. The interior smells like the car was never smoked in. The cloth on the door panels do sag a bit but this is an easy fix. I tested all electrical components (power windows, door locks, air conditioner, heater, power mirrors, lights, turn signals etc.) All work as expected. The air conditioner blows really cold.
The car comes with a few maintenance records. I see that the timing belt was changed at about 120k miles according to receipts found in the glove box.
In summary, this is a mechanically sound 1 owner car with a few cosmetic blemishes. Many more years of service left from this vehicle.
If you are looking for an affordable every day run around with no frills that gets good gas mileage, this is the one.
