Vehicle Detail
This started out as a 82' GL500. It has been completely stripped and rebuilt as a 2013' Custom Motorcycle. The chassis was taken down to the bare metal and modified to take a mono shock and the CBR 900 front end. All the chassis components were epoxy coated and top coated with single stage Acrylic Urethane paint. The fuel tank was also stripped, primed, and painted with multiple layers of base coat/ clear coat. The engine originally had 35,000 miles on it. I rebuilt the top end. The bottom end was tight, as is the case with most of these engines, if they haven't been abused. The donor bike was very clean. The front wheel was changed over to an 18" and epoxy coated along with the rear. The rear diff and brake drum were painted and clear coated. The exhaust is custom built, with 1 1/2" primaries and a 2" collector. The Meg is a baffled stainless unit. I will be uploading a video before the end of the auction so people can hear how awesome this thing sounds! The battery box is custom built and relocated under the rear of the engine. The headlight, taillight, blinkers, and gauges are new. The tires have about 20 miles on them. I will be replacing the clip ons with billet units, and I installed pod filters since these photos were taken. I did have 36 Mikuni flat slides on it, but the throttle pull was kind of long. If the winning bidder prefers the race carbs, I will swap them out. This bike is a lot of fun to ride and is a real conversation piece at most of my stops. I encourage interested parties to ask any questions they would like. Thanks for looking! On Jun-18-13 at 05:39:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a few people ask about shipping. I will ship the bike at the buyers expense. I shipped my last bike through Forward Air, out of Raleigh, NC. The transaction was very smooth. I put the bike in a steel container that the buyer reserved, strapped it down, padlocked the container, and that was it. So anyone who is just beyond reasonable driving distance, should give them a call. Also, I've used a company named Wolverine Cycle Logistics, LLC to ship a bike. They picked the bike up from my shop and handled all the loading. It's been a couple years but I would imagine they're still around. The owner is Matt Gehman. 817 496 4111. Thanks.
