Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here is a wonderful sport-touring machine, capable of carving up any road straight or twisty (expecially the twisties!). I love the fit and feel of this bike, but most of all it's character and all the looks and comments it gets wherever it goes. You don't see these everywhere like Harley's and the various Japanese bikes. Details: - Caspian Blue color - 1050 cc powerplant with approximately 130 HP - ODO shows just under 39,500 miles - actual - I purchased the bike in 2008 with just over 11,000 miles on it and have loved and cared for, as well as rode it like crazy ever since. - Title is in hand for quick transfer. - Insurance rates are reasonable. I pay about $250 for six months of premium. - I must get rid of the bike due to the fact that my wife will not ride on it....it's just not comfortable enough for her. Not that it can't be a great two-up bike for most, just not for her. - Bike has never been down, all the plastic is in good order with exception of a crack in the rear tail fairing piece shown in the photos. There is also a scratched area on the very bottom of the left side fairing but it's so far down on the panel that it's barely noticeable unless the bike is leaning over the other direction. The first time I ever saw this scratch was in a picture taken on The Dragon in North Carolina (US 129 - Tail of the Dragon). - I have been changing my own tires for 3 years with a No-Mar tire changer, so there are no marks on the wheels that weren't there when I bought the bike (which isn't many at all - barely noticeable). - On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say the finish and condition of the bike is a conservative 8, but I am a harsh critic. Yes, there are areas where there are slight marks and dings from riding it for almost 40K miles, but nothing major at all. This bike cleans up so well, it even impressed me. All I ever used to clean it was Original Bike Spirits from the motorcycle shops and it works great....cleans and waxes at the same time! - Aftermarket items included with the sale include: Genuine Triumph hard side bags (with liners), Genuine Triumph Top Box (no liner), Genuine Triumph rear axle nut covers (both sides), matching blue rim stripes, crash bars, GenMar risers (I believe 1 1/4" rise over stock), bar end weights, Kaoko throttle lock (cruise), Givi touring windscreen, Stebel horn (loud and proud), one piece rear tire hugger and chain cover guard assembly (black - as shown in pics), Genuine Triumph Gel touring seat, Gripster tank grips, R & G tail tidy, genuine Triumph Off Road muffler assembly (TOR), TOR tune on the computer to supplement the higher flow muffler, K & N filter, aftermarket grips with cushies over them, HID headlights that work GREAT at night, reflective panels on back of side bags made for these bags. - Stock items that will come with the purchase; stock wind screen, stock seat, stock Triumph muffler, extra key, owners manual, took kit. - The bike will get a brand new set of Continental Conti-Motion tires prior to delivery to the new owner. The 2005 Sprints DID NOT come with side bags and the top box nor any of the mounting hardware. I had to put that package together myself, which cost me about $1,000 total. The infill panels are black in color, but are currently covered with Plastidip, which can be taken off at any time and does not damage the paint finish underneath. The side bag infills are actually grey in color and the top box infill panel is charcoal grey in color. As you can see, this bike looks fantastic with black panels! The reserve amount is set including the full luggage kit. I estimate the value of all of the modifications to the bike at approximately $3,250 when purchased new. Yes, everything has miles on them, but everything works (even the low fuel light as you can see in the photos) and everything is in good shape. This bike has a LOT more left in it, and like I said earlier here, if my wife would ride on this thing, I'd be riding it until the wheels fell off. This bike fits me like a glove, and I rode it on some long days in the range of 600-700 miles and 13 hours in the seat. The gel seat and the bar risers make this bike completely comfortable for a guy of my frame size. I am 5'-9" and about 170 lbs. I can stop the bike anywhere and be flat-footed with no issues. The bike still runs flawlessly, gets great gas mileage and turn into corners effortlessly. I have ridden this bike back and forth to North Carolina/Virginia and back several times...riding it all through the twisties each time. I'm sad to see it have to go, but it is time to move on. Please feel free to ask questions and request any additional pictures of the bike. I can also take some video of the bike running to simulate the sound of the TOR exhaust, if interested. It sounds great but isn't too loud at all. Gives it a good growl. There is nothing like the sound and the character of the Triumph triples.....they are full of both and are very distinct to set them apart from other bikes. Thanks for looking! 317 258 6361
