Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1955 Ford F100 ½ truck. This car is adult owned and extremely well built and it looks stunning. It's a driving piece of 1950s art and gets a ton of attention from everyone. I mean old, young, hot rodders, import lovers, kids, teens, and everyone else. I don’t think there is anyone who hasn’t looked at this fly by without their mouth open. This is a restoration that was completed in February 2013 and has just less than 1,200 miles on it. All of the work is extremely new, fresh, and just passed the breaking in stage. The idea with this particular built was to really capture a classic hot rod look and feel with the addition of a modern feel and comfort. This is why all the emblems were retained as well as the whitewalls, oak wood bed etc. Motor, Transmission, Rear axle and Exhaust The motor is a 1969 Ford 429 Super Cobra Jet which was taken down to the block. Ported, polished, painted and reassembled. The motor was bored .30 over and the stock cam was ground down a bit. It has an amazing sound and tone! It truly sounds and growls like an old hot rod. A brand new Holly 750 Carb was installed on an Edlebrock performer manifold. The headers are polished Sanderson Block huggers, which help this beast breath but also add to the dress up factor of the motor. A very vintage set of finned Holly aluminum valve covers were polished with the inside of the fins painted Fire Engine red to match the interior cab and engine compartment paint. A finned scoop was also treated the same to visually keep this “old school”. The radiator is stock but has had a new heavy duty 4 core unit installed which really keeps this motor nice and cool. I haven’t seen it get over 180 degrees and this is driving in LA freeway, gridlock traffic, WITH the AC blowing. The transmission is a mid 70s C6 that was gutted and all new internals were installed. This also includes a shift kit and tons of extras. It’s bulletproof and between the new motor and all the other parts of the drive train it should last for ages. The rear is a Ford 9” with Posi which, (not that I need to say it) has been completely taken apart and rebuilt. 2.5” Flowmaster Super 10 Series Delta Flow Mufflers were used and makes this thing scream, growl, sound badass or however you’d like to describe it. She’s a beast! Initially the dual pipes came out under the rear chrome bumper but I ended up cutting the chrome tips off and having the pipes hide just underneath the bed for a really clean look. Suspension A Volare front end was professionally installed on the stock 1955 Ford Frame. I’ve owned a few F100s now and have had a variety of front end options. Volare offers torsion bar suspension with an adjustable ride height as standard equipment. I’ve always liked the Volare front ends and with a 429 motor it seemed like the right choice. The front end was like the rest completely gone through and rebuilt. The frame has been boxed in certain sections with a 4 link coil over set up in the rear. It’s a really comfortable ride that’s for sure! Body The body was extensively gone over with extreme attention paid to all aspects. The body was stripped down to the bare metal and treated. There is now zero rush on this truck at all! The original doors were reskinned with new metal, all four cab corners were cut out and replaced, the drip rail rust was all removed and any holes welded back up properly. The floorboard was completely gone through and fixed with a custom transmission cover cut and built for this application. The dash is stock except for the AC vents. The AC knobs and vents were installed to make it look as stock as possible. Inside the engine compartment all holes on the firewall were sealed up and smoothed down sans the essentials. The front fenders are stock and like all other aspects of this build were repaired along with the hood and lower valance. The bed of the F100 was completely replaced with a thicker gauge metal to avoid any flexing. In the rear a 1951 Ford Tailgate was used as opposed to a stock 1955 for a cleaner look and to have that awesome Ford logo script dead center to match the wheel caps. The end caps of the bed were closed, welded, and smoothed stealth latches placed inside the tailgate. The rear fenders are very thick gauged fiberglass that is 3” wider than stock to accommodate the 9” rear end, the wheel and tire combo as well as bring together the overall look. Now the front and rear fenders stick out to the same length as opposed to the rear looking much smaller and off balance. Paint The exterior paint is 1957 Raven black and the interior of the cab and engine compartment is 1955 Fire Engine Red. The inside of the cab was painted two-tone to keep a very clean line and consistent look. Fire engine red accents were used throughout as well. It’s the little details right? Interior So to be a bit different and because I am definitely not a fan of small modern wheels in old vehicles I used a 1961 Ford Truck deluxe steering wheel and column. The wheel was sanded down, repaired, painted, and the metal horn ring blasted and triple chrome plated. To keep with a vintage hot rod look a polished finned column mount was used to hold the 61’ column. This is paired with a polished and finned housing unit for the new gauges. There is a Vintage Air unit installed and the AC blows ice cold. I had the control unit taken apart and the knobs put in the dash to look as stock as possible. I did not want any individual AC vents hanging out under the dash or a massive unit dead center. So I had them placed inside the dash with retro looking vents to give the appearance that it was a stock application. The truck is completely soundproofed with Dynamat to help keep the sound system crisp. A brand new Kenwood wireless unit (iphone/ipod ready) has been professionally installed underneath the seat. I have the remote Velcro stuck right near the column for ease. Up front are Sony 8.5” speakers and tweeters and in the rear, behind the seat we have two Sony 6x9’s, two 10” subs, and a 5 channel amp. It’s crisp, loud, and clear for any type of tunes that you’d like to run through the system! The seat and door panels were stitched in a custom tuck and roll. BMW black thick looped carpet was used to make the custom floor covering and back firewall cover. The seat was removed and all new foam and everything else was used to make the bench seat like brand new. There is also a set of over the shoulder seat belts that were installed to make the ride that much more safe! Wheels and Tires Up Front we have 15x6 (3 ¾”) offset Wheel Vintique Wheels In the Rear are 16x8 (4”) offset Wheel Vintique Wheels Ribbed Chrome trim rings, 1941 Ford Hubcaps (Again to retain that Ford Script) Powder coated Fire Engine Red Wrapped in brand new Coker wide white walls which have also only seen less than 1,000 miles on it. Extras and Others Painless Wiring 18 circuit wiring system Optima Battery in the stock location Viper Alarm System Brand new stock gas tank 11 gallon reserve tank in the bed Oak wood bed was varnished/sealed to retain natural color All emblems have been retained EVERYTHING is new Power Steering Power Brakes (on frame underneath driver) The STOCK 1955 Grill has been taken apart, brought down to the bare metal, straightened and triple chrome plated Front Bumper is brand new and chromed Rear Bumper is brand new and chromed Short hangers (Brings rear bumper up much higher) Interior dome light works with door and by switch Old school push start ignition New side glass New Rubber all around New Anti rattle kit New handles Ya know… put it this way. It’s all new. I’m sure I’ve left a few things out but you get the jist Pros Pretty Much Everything Cons Driver side window sticks from time to time. I believe because the window trim is so new it needs adjusting at the bottom of the glass. Again, it’s only from time to time it feels a little tight. There is a very small power steering leak, which the shop said is most likely the O-ring where the fitting attaches. Worst case scenario it’s the shaft and then it would need to be rebuilt, which is minimal. Prepare to turn heads nonstop and have people give you thumbs up, wave, etc. Please email for additional info, I'm sure I'm forgetting some details. I have a clear California title in my name. The car is located in Los Angeles. I will ship the car overseas once all funds have cleared the bank. I do reserve the right to end the auction early. I also will do a buy-it-now for the right price please email me to discuss. 0-feedback bidders must contact me prior to bidding or bids will be cancelled. I will be retaining the plates for this vehicle since they are to go on my next project. This vehiclehas been appraised very high and cost over 60k to build. You will not come across another 55' F100 with this amount of detail to make it a daily driving, bad ass, hot rodding classic with a modern feel but 1950s appeal! Thanks for looking.
