Vehicle Detail

***UPDATE 6/1/13*** Carburetor was acting funny, with the choke sticking etc. Replaced with brand new carb. Raised the opening bid to reflect the cost of this. Originally a TBI (fuel injected) truck but now converted to a 2brl. Currently has a non-numbers-matching 350 SBC. Was supposedly rebuilt at some point in time, but can not guarantee this. It does start and run perfectly, however, and does not smoke. Unknown if original engine in the truck was 305 or 350. I assume it to be a 305, which would make sense as to why switching to a 350. Has factory manifolds with 2.25" exhaust going into the mufflers, then 3" on back dumping behind the rear axle. (mufflers are a flowmaster-like knockoff brand) (the ecu, wiring etc is still in place if you wish to convert it back, but I do not have the TBI unit) 700R4 trans w/overdrive which shifts perfectly. Has a new replacement radiator and fan shroud. (fan shroud fits and works, but doesn't appear to be the correct factory unit) Truck came loaded with A/C, cruise, power windows, power door locks, power brakes, power steering. Yes, it is an 87k original mile truck. Both cab corners needed fixed. They weren't rusted out or missing, but they were starting to rust. So I had both replaced. The bed was in good shape minus a nasty dent in one side. I had an OEM replacement bed side put on (not a patch panel, a full bed side) The hood had a broken emblem and I couldn't locate a GMC one, so it has a Chevy bowtie one now. (easy fix, just get a GMC sticker for it) It has new basecoat/clearcoat. The black is the factory black wihch came on the truck. The silver is medium charcoal. The factory rally wheels have been painted the same medium charcoal, with the factory polished rings. The centers have new-style GMC emblems on them. Has all of the original stainless cab and tailgate trim, with new chrome body molding. Rear tinted sliding back glass (unsure if original, but doubtful) Spray-in bed liner. (Unsure the brand. Local business did it for me) Factory tail lights and marker lights were still in good shape. They were sanded and buffed. The factory "High Sierra 1500" emblems are a bit faded, but not terrible. As the same with the grill GMC emblem. There is no frame rust and or damage, and all sheet metal (other than noted) is original to the vehicle as far as I can tell. It appears to have never been in an accident. Now for the bad, as we all know all old vehiclaes have them; Like most every truck this body style, the gas gauge does not work properly. Currently it says it has a tank and a half of gas, At some point in this trucks life the steering column was changed to one from a Chevy w/out tilt. This unit is still in the truck and does work. I have a newer one for a GMC with tilt, and a new style GMC steering wheel that will go w/the truck. The key works, but it has a push-button for the starter and an aux switch for the wipers. (don't ask, because it was this way when I got the truck and have no clue why it is like that) The dash pad was far beyond repair. I had purchased a new one from a Chevy for it, not knowing the Chevy pad was slightly different from the GMC. It works, but you will notice if you know what you are looking at. Also the gauge cluster surround doesn't sit flush, it sticks out a tad due to the difference in the pad. The door panels have been dyed back black, but the arm rests aren't in the best of shape as you can see in the pics. Black carpet is in nice shape minus where it was patched in, in the middle. Unsire if there was possibly a consile fabbed in at one point, or a CB mount, or what? A/C pump and brackets are missing. Everythign else however is there. Passenger side window motor is weak. You can roll it up/down but you have to assist it. The motor should be replaced. No rear bumper. I had purchased a steel roll pan for it, but upon prepping for paint it was noticed the roll pan was highly damaged. and I didn;t want it fixed/filled with filler so it didn;t make the cut. Factory grill has a small crack. It was fixed grom the inside by being glassed, but you can still see a hairline crack in it about 1/2" long. Factory radio doesn't work (but in my opinion that's better than having the dash hacked up with a cd player in it) ---- In all, all the hard and expensive stuff is done on this truck. Everythign left is to make it whatever you want to make it into. You could spend a few dollars here and there picking up things to make it perfect, or you could just drive it like it is. If I have left anything out or you have any questions please feel free to send me a message and I can either answer it, or give you my phone number or vice versa. You are also welcome to come check out the truck in person at any time. If you check my feedback, I recently sold a vehicle in which I tried to list everything about it as possible ,and received positive feedback on the transaction. Though it is a nice truck, it isn;t a perfect showroom quality truck. But I'm also not aksing 15-20k for it either.
