2001 Dodge Neon RT - 2.0 L Engine - 5 Speed Manual - 134,678 MilesNY State residents please understand your restrictions before bidding on this vehicle. Runs and drives nicely. You can even drive it home. Strong motor, clutch and tranny. No leaks, misfire, slippage or smoking. This car is going to the highest bidder in "As Is" condition. No Reserve! No Buy It Now! Please Don't Ask! The exhaust system is disconnected (broken) at the exhaust manifold. It's VERY loud and will need some significant exhaust repair. While up in the air we noticed a "motor mount rubber insert" is worn. The engine "cradle" or K-frame supporting the motor has rust. There's also a tiny rot hole you can poke a finger into. The unit is structurally sound and should not pose a problem for years to come. I make it sound worse than it is, but that is the way I prefer to describe things. AC is cold. The driver side power window and the sunroof do not work. I did not check the fuses. Body is clean and the paint shines - very few body and paint flaws. Interior is also very nice. Brakes feel fine but the rear rotors are a little pitted. Tires are very good. If you drive it home you will need to quiet the exhaust or risk a summons. This vehicle might not pass NY State inspection in it's current state, and since the battery was dead when I picked up the car, it would need to be driven to reset the onboard computer monitor which is necessary for NY State inspection. I am a NY State registered dealer and I am not going to jump through the hoops of NY State inspection criteria and law, therefore ... New York residents are unable to bid or buy unless they are a registered car dealer, registering/re-titling the vehicle out of state or are using it for “Parts Only”. When a car is sold as “Parts Only’ or “Salvage” it must pass a NY State “Salvage Inspection”. This is done to keep rebuilt wrecks that are unsafe off the road – especially vehicles with frame damage or airbag deployment. My cars are rarely rebuildable wrecks and therefore will easily pass this strict inspection process when the problem that is advertised is corrected. There are about 10 to 15 NY State salvage inspection sites in NY State – 2 or 3 are on Long Island and there are a couple in NY City. Call me for further clarification. As a registered NY State dealer I am unable to sell a car that won’t pass inspection to a NY State resident. Anyone else can bid and buy.
