Vehicle Detail
I am just listing this car tonight to get it on and tomorrow I will add more pictures of it including a more detailed list of any problems I may find. 1995 BMW Ci Convertible with the V6 motor. 185,000 miles but it says exempt on title so I guess its because age of car but not sure. I am listing with NO RESERVE and will sell to highest bidder. I purchased this vehicle from auction about a month and a half ago because I was going to keep as a second car but due to financial problems it is being sold. I was out of town for 3 weeks so I have not done much with the car. My brother has been driving the car everyday to work and not had an issue with it. The interior does need some work but its really not bad for what I have seen in the older BMW's listed. The interior needs minor things but the leather seats do not have tears or rips. The back seats come out easier than taking spare tire out so it can be easily cleaned or leather reupholstered if you wish. The top has a few small dings but nothing serious. I think the top is in pretty good shape for its age honestly. It has a straight six and shifts fine. The miles are exempt and I was told that tranny was replaced but I do not know for sure. There was an airbag light on but not sure why as I did not see on title that it was in accident. Someone told me lights can come on for anything and sometimes just need to be reset. The top goes down manually and we did get the electric switch to work briefly but did not mess with it long. When I got car there was some kind of putty on front corners where top latched so I am assuming it was from small leak. I have not noticed any major leaks or should I say I did not see dampness in car after rain. I also did not see water damage inside. The body is sound and no rust anywhere. I know a lot of the older BMW's the clear coat is an issue on paint but this one does not look bad. The tires look good all the way around and the wheels are 17" alloy. I will get a better detailed list of what I may find tomorrow going through car with fine tooth comb. I am not out to get anyone and not selling because it has any problems with it. I also have not owned car very long but I drove it 200 miles round trip and did not have one problem. Fires up one first tap of key turning over and rides really good. The motor was really clean and it does not leak any fluid of any kind. As I said I will add a lot more pictures and details tomorrow. If you have questions please ask. I will also help transport car for a fee if you want it delivered. I am open to delivering just about anywhere in the U.S. for the right fee so just ask and we can work something out. I have title in hand and no games with completing transaction. I will need deposit when auction ends unless you have contacted me previously and we come to terms on something. Thanks for looking. On May-26-13 at 17:01:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok I have spent the day messing with the car and looking for problems. I found a couple dings in the top that look like they may have happened while messing with the top. The good news is that I did get the top to go down with the switch. It will also come back up with the button so you do not have to do it manually. There was a tear in the back seat but the front seats are fine. The putty where the top seals I have pictured and now it looks like it may have been leaking but I think it's just from me playing with it. The door panels inside could use some attention and the back cover where speakers go I could see where they had Velcro holding it on so it will need attention as well. If you look at the vehicle report it shows that I was honest about the length of time I have had it and that it came from auction. This car I found out was on a car lot here in Pa prior to me owning it. Again there are no leaks. I got the top working properly but of course the seat had an issue. The seat motor went back but would not come forward. I hear motor working and it goes every direction but forward but in my opinion I rather have that problem than the top not working. You can get a motor for seat from junkyard for $20 and its easily accessible and easy to change but I don't think it will need it since its working every other way. I will be honest I paid $2400 for this car at auction because I owned a 1993 325is and it was my favorite body for older BMW cars. I purchased it from auction with it in my head I would possibly have to put a grand into it to have it the way I wanted it but it looks like it will be a lot less. The door panels that don't have to be changed but you might want to do it are only $100 each on Ebay. Please do not bid if you don't understand this car is almost 20 years old and needs minor things done to it. Cosmetic things can be fixed over time so I was not worried. It will get you where you need to go and back while you fix the small things. The top is $600 to replace but I would not replace it. I am just giving you prices of things I have researched so you know about what things will cost. The top actually looks great for the age though. I will list pictures of the small dings in it now. PLEASE PLEASE ask questions you may have prior to bidding. Its a good sound car if you are BMW enthusiast and want a car to put some time into. Car does have a good spare tire, new looking battery, original tool kit in trunk with jack. On May-26-13 at 17:22:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok I have taken more pictures and gone through the car to look for problems. Good news I did get the top to go up and down with the button. There was a tear in back seat leather and inside door panels need some attention. If you have owned a older BMW then you know what I am talking about. I had a 93 that I had to get door panels for and I got them for $100 on Ebay. There are a couple little dimples in the top from where it was hitting something when top was going back but nothing serious. I was cleaning car and moved the seat back and the motor in the seat let the seat go back but would not come back up. Of course I got the top working and the seat does this. Good thing though cause the top is $600 and the seat motor is $20 at junkyard. The motor works every direction except forward so it may very well work the next time I get in. I pictured the putty at corners when the top comes down and they may be leaking but it can be fixed easily. I will be honest, I paid $2400 for this at auction because this is my favorite body on older BMW so I intended on putting a grand into it since it came from auction. I don't think it needs more than $300 in small things to make it look good inside. Its perfectly drivable now and just needs cosmetic things that will be uploaded now. Please ask questions before bidding because I do not want to go through the I paid $1200 or whatever the price may be and you got a 20 yr old car that has a scratch on it. I am willing to take a loss on it to pay my bills though. The dash looks great and the wood grain in dash and steering wheel look great. The computer that displays messages works great still as well. I will list pictures now so if you have any questions just shoot me a message and I will answer promptly. Thanks. On May-26-13 at 17:27:32 PDT, seller added the following information: My computer froze and did not know the new description saved so I redid it so if you see the 2 paragraphs that are basically saying the same thing that's why. I tried to delete one of them but since there are bids on it I can no longer delete anything.
