Vehicle Detail

Experience classic style with new world suspension and electronics. This was a complete rebuild from ground up - engine completely disassemble - all gaskets and electronics upgraded. Here is a listing of the new/upgraded components: - New Bridgestone Battlax bias ply tires front and rear - All new cables and electronics - Ignatech CDI, new regulator, Rick's stator, new coils & spark plug caps & cables, Kosi digital tach & speedo, lithium battery - 2007 CBR1000RR front end with needle bearings, new works performance shocks - New Mikuni TM38 flat slide racing carbs with K&N oval air filters - Custom pipes with Harley Sportster mufflers - this is one of the best sounding motorcycles I have ever ridden (and I've ridden most of them) - Woodcraft 3" rise clip ons - Lots of custom bling with a molded aluminum seat pan - New Barnett clutch As you can see from the pic's - everything has been upgraded with a ton of bling. The seat pan and tail section can be removed by loosening one thumb nut on the underside of the seat pan. Clutch feel and changing gears is smooth - neutral is easy to find - everything looks feels and works like new. Pictured - the inside of the gas tank looks like new - the paint is professional. The CBR front end is what the Honda engineers would have put on this bike if the technology was available in 1978. You can change the oil and adjust the valves in 30 minutes (if you ever need to adjust the valves). This is a very easy bike to work on. This started as your typical barn find - it stopped running one year in the 1980's and was stashed away until I dug it up. The engine had 15xxx miles on it and it still feels wrapped tight. All the bolts were changed to stainless allen head bolts. The bike has been completely vetted and is ready for the road. The front end is stable and neutral with a ton of feel - it corners great and the engine loves to be revved. The engine has 500 miles on the rebuild. Seat height is 30" - sitting position is comfortable with foot controls 4" more rearward than standard - reach to the bars is comfortable. The winning bidder is responsible for shipping - but I can trailer or ride the bike within a reasonable distance of Irving, Texas. On May-21-13 at 10:19:26 PDT, seller added the following information:All fluids have been changed including fork & rear end fluids. On the CBR front end - there are no handling anomolies. The front end is much more stable - brakes are "outstanding" - the only down side is the full turning radius is limited due to the size of the forks/tank. There were no alterations to the fork or steering stem other than having to cut off the CX fork lock tab on the top of the CX frame. Therefore - you cannot lock the front forks with a key. The ignition is the standard CX ignition. Electronics - the CX controls were switched out for the CBR controls on the throttle right side. Standard CX switches are on the left. Due to the difference in wiring harness between the CX and the CBR - the "on/off" toggle switch on the CBR control works opposite of the CX. So - the CX will start when the toggle switch is in the "off" position - and the CX will stop when you turn the toggle switch to "on". Cooling - this bike has the electronic fan mod. The standard fan has been eliminated and an electric fan was installed with an on/off switch on the left handle bar mount. This is a very cool running bike - I've only had to use the electronic fan on a few of the hottest days in heavy traffic. The electronic fan is a must upgrade as the bike will have less recipricating mass which translates to more HP. It also eliminates another oil seal that eliminates another "oil leak" point on the CX engine. The front cam holder cap has an aluminum plug that was welded in place once the fan and mounting tab were removed from the cam. Caburators - the Mikuni TM38's are racing carbs - they add additional HP and the CX runs "great". At idle - the rpm's will fluctuate slightly after the bike warms up. If the buyer finds this is a problem/annoyance - I can switch the carbs out for standard Mikuni round slide carbs. My preference would be to talk about it before the bike is shipped/picked up so we send it with the configuration that you want. In either case - the Mikuni round slide or flat slide carbs are a much better combo than the standard CX carbs. Ergo's - This is a very comfortable ride - the bend to the bars is not extreme and your feet should reach the ground fine if your inseam is 30" or longer. The seat was designed to give as much moving around room as possible - so you are not "locked in" to a riding position. It's low enough so you feel integrated into the bike - and wide enough so you have as much support in you rear as possible. Since it is so wide - it is a little uncomfortable when your feet are on the ground. The foam is dense so the initial impression would be that it's too hard - but once you spend a couple hours on the bike - you'll wonder why your rear isn't hurting. This was designed to be a comfortable bike to ride as well as a bike you will want to stare at for hours... Please let me know if you have additional questions. On May-21-13 at 10:19:28 PDT, seller added the following information:All fluids have been changed including fork & rear end fluids.
