Vehicle Detail
1970 Chevelle Convertible. This car has had only two owners. The original and myself. I have owned the car since 1983. I took the car off the road in 1997 and tucked it away in the garage as it was at a point where it should be restored. Always hoped to get to that point myself but could never make the car a priority with family/children responsibilities so it continued to sit in the garage. Original 307 V8, 350 turbo hydra matic transmission, 10 bolt posi rear end. This car was originally the butternut yellow which I couldn't stand so I painted it red. Body panels are in good shape considering this is a 43 year old car but there is bubbling in areas and will need repair. The frame has been welded/patched in a number of areas and could use more repair and ideally would best benefit from being replaced. Has all it's original glass, dash is in great shape, hooked up a battery, power top works w/no issues but will need the canvas replaced. I was not going to attempt to start/turn over the motor considering how long I have had it sitting but it turns by hand . The car looks really good in the pictures but I don't want to mis-lead anyone. This car isn't turn-key. The paint has scratches where things have bumped, rubbed, sat on it while it has been in storage. It needs restoration cosmetically, structurally, and mechanically. That being said, the potential this car has speaks for itself. It's about as complete as you can find and has all it's original major components. The rally wheels weren't original on this. It had the steel wheels, wheel covers. I still have the original wheel covers. I also have the original orange valve covers for the engine as well as the original air intake. A great opportunity for the person who loves to restore classic cars or who wants a classic. Buyer will have to make a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end with balance paid within 7 days. Buyer will also have to arrange transportation of vehicle. I don't need to sell and I don't need the space in the garage, so I've set what I feel is a reasonable reserve. If it doesn't sell then it can go back into it's spot in the garage.
