1974 Lotus Europa Twin Cam Special Primary VIN # (front half of car): 743536R ***Note: We can arrange for a "Classic Certificate of Provenance" to be shipped to the buyer from Lotus for each VIN or just the primary vin. We only ask that the buyer pays Lotus' fee for the certificate and shipping. Other VIN # (rear half of car): 744245R This is a project car. DRIVETRAIN (motor and transmission) is not included. Body needs paint and primer. Some body work has been done. No major issues. A previous owner of the car took two '74 Lotus Europa TCS and put the front half of one together with the rear half of the other (both cars were involved in accidents or were seen as better off cut in half. Both halves are definitely salvageable and available outside this auction). As far as we know, the complete body has been reinforced with metal bars where the two halves have been put together. The body is in good condition considering. There is bondo on the car. Most is there only to cover up chips and bumps from storage and age. But that said, the car is a low mileage car. Both cars have less than 20K miles. One car had a little over 14K miles. The other had over 17K miles. The odometer installed in the car says over 17K miles. Glass is all there, but the windshield has a broken top right (or left depending on how you're looking at it) corner as shown in the photos. We were informed that the windshield incurred the incident before being removed from its original packaging. The rear window is not shown in the photos, but is included. The beauty of this car, however, is that most of the important parts of the car (frame, suspension, brakes, etc.) have been rebuilt, replaced, or refurbished. As pictures show, the car clearly has work done underneath the body. Everything looks very nice and mechanically sound. We had every intention of returning it to the street or turning it into a racecar, but other projects are taking precedence. There is very little surface rust in places from the car sitting around with the previous owners. There is a new carpet set available with the car. Other new, unused items such as oatmeal seat upholstery, gaskets, etc. are available and will be included if reserve is met. As far as I know, this is a fairly complete car minus the motor and transmission. As well, I can't find the front nose emblem and a couple letter emblems for the rear are missing. There are new Europa emblems and TCS World Champion plates included. Seats are included, starter motor, fuel tanks, etc., most electrics and mechanics are installed (not all electrics and gauges are connected). There are doubles of some parts available for purchase outside this auction and some doubles will probably be included in the boxes of parts that go with the car. Not all parts included with the car are shown in the photos. This car is a great candidate for a Zetec Conversion. It had been considered, but nothing has been done yet to accommodate such an idea.
