Up for sale is a 1996 Ford Thunderbird LX. In all honesty this car is seriously nice. With only 90k miles, this car was barely driven and seriously maintained. The keypads work to unlock, lock, open the trunk, and sound the alarm. There are a few things that need to be fixed but I assure you these are usually pretty simple and not cost effective. The Thunderbird was Ford’s response to the Chevrolet corvette when it was first introduced. INTERIOR: This interior is really, really clean! It shows that this car has low miles. Everything works on this car except the cold A/C. A simple, cheap recharge and it will be cold again. The gas gauge does not work. This could be a sensor located near the gas tank. The brand new windshield wiper blades work great as well. But, the switch for the turn signal/wiper setting has been broken, shown in the pictures. The turn signal still works, and the wipers, it is just a little tricky, but simple. This is another cheap fix. There is an aftermarket radio installed so it can play your CD’s. All you need is an auxiliary cord and you can plug your phone up and listen to your playlists. EXTERIOR: The paint has been taken care of also. This does look like original paint and there is a small chip in the rear bumper above the towing hitch. Just some touch up paint and no one will notice. There is a weird blemish under the driver side headlight. I do not know what this is. It is not deep and it could be something just built up on the paint. Other than that this body is straight, and rust free and looks really good. I assume this car was garage kept. MOTOR/HANDLING: I expected this car to be slow and sluggish, instead it was the complete opposite. The Thunderbird delivers like a sports car, or a sleeper. There is a v8 in there and you can definitely tell. It took turns very well and drove like a charm. This car gave a completely different outlook on thunderbird and ford alone. I would drive this car anywhere for any amount of time. With only 90,000 miles, and the way it was maintained, I don’t see this car giving you any problems for a very long time. When I was driving I did experience one thing. There is a faint sound coming from the front when you hit bumps. I’m thinking this issue could be some kind of panel rattling around? This does not affect the way it steers or turns at any speed only when I hit rough spots on the road. Don’t let first impressions fool you on this car. It may not be up to date with all of the other cars coming out now, but it really does drive and handle like a high end car. With low miles and this incredible condition this would be a great first time buyer, or something to cruise around in. This car is without a doubt reliable and not what you would expect.
