Its designers clearly had an eye for detail, and the result is an elegant, rich and very put-together car. These classic Roadmasters have become quite collectible -- even Jay Leno has one in his garage. This '55 Roadmaster Sedan is a gorgeous car, inside and out, with only 40,692 believed-to-be original miles. She is a very well-maintained, very correct, mostly original and exceptionally preserved example unlike anything on the market. This car always turns heads and solicits "oohs" and "ahhs" wherever we drive her; she looks like a million bucks, and seems like a bargain at any price. The exterior is finished in correct Cameo Beige with a Titian Red top; the paint shows very well, and the car still has its original paint in the door jambs. All panels are straight with good gaps; the car overall still feels quite fresh owing to its unusually low mileage. The bumpers and miles of chrome are all very good. The tires are period correct bias ply whitewall Coker Classics. Hubcaps are, of course, in excellent condition. The interior is a striking two-tone Kelly Green and Glacier white, with seats upholstered in a truly lovely tulip and leaf brocade. The front seat has been reupholstered in NOS material; the rear seat is in excellent original condition. All seats have clear plastic slipcoversthan can be removed. Carpet, headliner and door panels are original and in very good condition. Even the original clip-on mirror behind the passenger sun visor is intact -- it's inscribed "Buick is a beauty, too." We tend to agree. Under the hood is the original 322 cubic-inch "Nailhead" V8 mated to a DynaFlow automatic transmission. She cranks on the first try, runs great, doesn't smoke and shifts smoothly. This Roadmaster was highly optioned, with power brakes, power steering, power windows and a power front seat. The original Sonomatic radio still works just fine.
