Vehicle Detail
1990 Porsche 911 (964 Type) Coupe TIME CAPSULE in rare color Linen Gray with Cashmere interior. This is a completely original car (NO hideous "boy racer" mods) with the exception of the addition of both a vented dual distributor and cylinder gaskets. This is a Tiptronic car, giving the best of both worlds; the car is a blast to drive on the back roads of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge but is still a great cruise machine on the Interstate while on long road trips. This is the perfect 911 for the seasoned Porsche driver that wants a reliable, fun and comfortable car. Car has never been tracked, always garaged and I have history since new (with purchase receipt) where the car was purchased in Alexandria, VA. at Heishman's for $65,016.00 (a 1988 911 targa was taken in trade). I’ve had the car for 8 years, routine maintenance and state safety inspections are up to date. Car has 117,428 miles on it, but had a complete engine rebuild at 92,000 miles which included the addition of new, updated pistons/cylinder sets, rod and main bearings and intake and exhaust valve guides…with filters, plugs, gasket kits, the newer style vented distributor, new engine isolation pad was replaced while the engine was out, new air duct, temp sensor, oil pressure switch, oil line case, timing chain rails…and glass beaded the cylinder heads; just about 25,400 miles on the engine rebuild. All documentation from that rebuild and previous maintenance actions are available. Interior is clean and shows only minor wear on driver’s seat outboard bolster. All manuals, tools, spare compressor and original Porsche Blaupunct AM/FM CD stereo remain. New brake pads and brake sensors were recently installed, but I did not replace the rotors, but have them on hand. Normal pebble dings on front, small scratch on left rear quarter window frame. Typical (minor) plastic pieces that become brittle on cars this age have been replaced; i.e., levers for sun roof deflector, NEW skirt on wing (that always split at the fold). NEW left and right rear tail light/signal assemblies and the center assembly have been replaced with new Porsche components and is properly vented via the intake; no "spider web-bing" on this NEW plastic. A /C converted to R-134A but needs a charge. NEW Bosch battery recently installed. 964 owners will understand when I say I have replaced window power switches too. Original Porsche CD player drive motor should be replaced (vendors listed in Panorama) and speaker cone suspensions failed, so I installed new speakers that fit in OEM locations without modifications but retained the original speaker frames and grill covers for the aficionado that might want to restore to absolute accuracy...you know who you are. There a vendors available through Panorama that performs that kind of restoration too. Original windshield correctly pitted for this age/mileage car. This is not a concourse car; it is a car meant to be driven for hours while smashing bugs on America’s best non-straight back roads…but still looks remarkably good and is rust free. No wrecks, and YES, this car has original paint. Very strong engine, reliable, mucho fun and sounds proper. I try to be accurate in my descriptions but all prospective purchasers should not considered this a complete description of all faults, and may not be considered a warranty of any sort. The car is sold as-is with all faults known or unknown. You know the deal; this a 20+ year old car that runs great in my opinion, looks remarkably good and has no rust I can see anywhere and I'll put it on the lift and take as many photos as you want.
