We're selling this car because we've "upgraded" to a '70 convertible and 3 bugs are one too many. This is a solid Georgia car. The previous owner sold the car to us because he was Army and relocating. He had the motor and paint work done. The body is rust-free, looks very good except for some dings and an amateurish rear hatch repair which were there when we bought the car. The Silver repaint is still as fresh as when we bought the car. A first class paint job. We've used this '69 for a year and a half as a daily driver to ferry our preschooler to school and for 12mos of runs to Dayton, OH Grand Jury Sessions. Starting, idling, shifting, acclerating and stopping are smooth. The aftermarket exhaust rests against the bottom of the "skirt" so upon acceleration the car sounds like a clapped out Checker cab. It is however dependable and a magnet for conversation everyplace you go. The heat works - important here in Ohio. However the car door handles stick, the alternator pulley is squeaking and until yesterday the lights, directionals, gas gauge and aftermkt fog lights and stereo/cd all worked fine. A prospective suggested it may be a problem with the "fuse block," but we are electrically challenged so Motorkars Volks Repair, Grandview, OH, will figure that out.
