Vehicle Detail

Nice cruiser here. If you are looking for a reasonably priced and collectible early 60's coupe, this 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix is one to consider. This is a turn key car our shop just finished restoring. It is not a trailer queen, a show car or perfect, but it is a good quality driver that you can enjoy now. It is powered by a 1965 389 engine that runs strong with no smoke or noises with a stock automatic transmission with console and floor shifter. The trans shifts normally with no leaks. It has power steering and power brakes with all new brakes lines, wheel cylinders and brake shoes. The suspension is tight and this is one of those cars you can steer with one finger and cruise nicely at 70 mph. We installed a manual choke so this car fires right up and idles nicely so unlike many of these cars that are very cold blooded, this one is user friendly. The body and frame on the car overall is good for the year. The frame and floor pans are very solid with no rot and have been undercoated. The trunk pan was rotted and a previous owner installed a piece of sheet metal which we seam sealed and painted and is an acceptable solution for a driver quality car. The rest of the body panels overall were solid. We stripped the car to bare metal, fixed a few problem areas with metal and body filler and painted the car. The paint job itself and the body work make this car a 10 to 20 footer. The interior is very presentable and mostly original with the front bucket seats and rear seat appearing to have the original upholstery which is still in good shape. It has a new headliner and new carpet. The dash and components are all there and the odometer/speedometer work although it shows you are going faster than you are. The gas gauge works fine. The clock and radio are there but not working although we haven't spent any time troubleshooting them. We installed all new wiring so all the lights and signals plus the wiper motor works. One wiper arm needs changed out. The tires are 14" with at least 50% treadlife remaining and they have the stock Pontiac hub caps giving it a nice period correct look. All the chrome and badging is original and should be redone or replaced for show but are fine for a driver. In summation, this is the kind of car you can get in, turn the key and go and enjoy the ride. Plus it is the kind of car that you can invest in and restore to a higher degree as you go without dropping a ton of money on and seeing the car go up in value at the same time. Fully restored, these cars bring 12-15K+ and as you Pontiac enthusiasts know, there is always a loyal market for resale and these cars are not a dime a dozen. Feel free to call or text 219-613-6682 with any questions. The car is for sale locally so we can end the auction early for any reason including from an accepted offer from here on eBay. This car is sold as is where is with no warranty and has been described to the best of our ability. A $ 500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the auctions end with balance in full due within 5 days of auctions end. We can assist with shipping and can get you a shipping quote.
