Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1966 Ford Mustang – 289 V-8 This is the car that many dream about. A classic Ford Mustang that you just can’t buy anywhere but it’s available to you right now at a great price. My mother was the second owner of the car, purchasing it in 1972. The car underwent a full restoration in 1994 and the engine was partially rebuilt in 2001 but to be honest it will need more work to bring it back to her glory. The good news is she still runs! See the video in the Flickr set (see link below). This baby blue bombshell has the 298 cu. ft. V-8 engine with a four speed automatic transmission. The interior is blue with the original center console, original AM radio, original steering wheel, and original instrument cluster. The headliner is great, the vinyl seats are in great condition except for a rip in the driver’s seat. The wheels even have the original spoke hubcaps. This car has spent it’s whole life in South Carolina however there is considerable body rust which is typical of cars from this era. It is most prevalent around the bottoms of the doors and wheel wells. There has been some interior water intrusion so you’ll find some rust there as well. The interior carpet would certainly need to be replaced. The body and frame are straight, however there is some damage below the front bumper around a turn signal. This car has not been in a serious accident in the 40 years it’s been in our family. Through restoration and other upgrades great care was taken to keep the car as close to original appearance as possible, the only major deviation was adding a two speakers behind the back seats and a modern FM/CD stereo receiver hidden away in the glove box. The odometer reads 98,924.1 of original miles, and we are very certain that it has only turned over twice. VIN: 6T07C252982 For over 100 detailed photos of the Mustang taken 12.8.2012 plus a video of the engine running, please visit this Flickr photo set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/83541039@N00/sets/72157632329309451/. I couldn't get this on a lift so I don't have any photos of the undercarriage which is in average condition. While this description and linked photos are as through as possible, you should certainly perform your own visual inspection of the vehicle before making your decision to purchase. The car is sold as-is, with no warranties either written or implied. Shipping or transportation is not included in the purchase price; the buyer is responsible for all associated fees & taxes. Car must be picked up from location in Charleston, South Carolina within ten (10) calendar days of auction close.
