Vehicle Detail

bmwshifter Store For sale is a 1997 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty 4x4 Powerstroke super cab truck. I had originally purchased it to carry out a few personal projects and start a hauling business on the side. Life plans have changed, and now I have to sell it due to my wife wanting to go back to school—tuition isn’t cheap anymore. I am going to try to go through the meat and potatoes of the truck the best I can. At least you can get a sense for what you are bidding on. Keep in mind, that I’m not a professional mechanic. This truck is the XLT version and has a lot of nice features. The A/C and the Cruise Control actually work on this vehicle. It also has power door locks and windows. It has the switching dual fuel tanks. The 4x4 works good too. It has Warn locking hubs in the front. The tires have good tread. The truck has good paint; with relatively little rust. The frame is nice and solid, and appears to only have minor surface rust here and there. It would be nothing that a little media blasting could take care of w/ little effort; if you wish. The truck’s engine sounds good, in my opinion. The turbo kicks in nicely as well. I am able to start it w/ no plug-in for cold temps. That was one of the reasons that I purchased it. The engine guage does run a little warm at highway speeds(75mph), but didn't overheat on me. It has good oil pressure. I only had it on the freeway for a short period of time… so that is something to take note of. I did not see any coolant leakage or white smoke or oil/coolant mixing in the engine oil. If I did see it, I would have certainly not bought the truck. The blow-by, or lack of, also seems to indicate a decent engine. I did the flipped-over-cap on the oil-fill tube trick. It didn’t blow off, so good to go there. In my opinion, the transmission shifts smooth also, and went in all of the gears w/o any jerks of any sort. It isn’t a perfect truck and I was planning on really going through it this Spring/Summer. It is due for some scheduled maintenance. It will need an oil change and it is seeping some oil here and there. I noticed that the rear diff plate needs some attention as it has some seepage—pretty typical. That is an easy fix. It does have a crack in the windshield. I haven’t had time to really go through everything that I’d like to in minute detail. The interior of the truck needs a good cleaning. I will probably do a once or twice over before the actual sale. I don’t see any tears or anything horrible about the upholstery—just needs a good shampooing and such. I also didn’t notice any cigarette smoke odor. Overall, this truck is in fair to good condition. It is a work truck. KBB has fair condition as being a little over $6500. All and all I’d say that my truck is worth about $5000. I’ll entertain any reasonable offers. Well, if you can think of any questions about it, send a message my way. However, make sure you ask before the auction/sale ends though, as the final price is non-negotiable. This vehicle is being sold 'as is' and 'where is'. Thanks! The winner of this auction/sale is to pay via Paypal (Paypal only for the deposit) a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the ending time/accepted offer and date. The deposit is mandatory; no exceptions sorry. This is to ensure that the person is willing to follow through w/ the sale. I’ve had people try to weasel their way out of winning auctions before. I know… shocking right? ;) The remainder of the balance is due in cash the day of pick-up. I will work w/ any shippers as long as the cash is in my hands before loading the vehicle. There will be no nit-picking about the vehicle after the sale ends on ebay. I have heard stories about this. If you offer a price for the vehicle and I accept, that is the final price. The vehicle is to be picked up no later than 7 days after the auction ends. Once the auction/sale ends, the winning bidder is to contact me on how and when they are going to pick up the truck. If you are out of state, please make sure you know what it takes to title/license/register it to your state. I can help w/ directions to license bureaus and title agencies in our area if requested. Please don't offer unless you have five or more positive feedbacks. Good luck!
